AMALGAM’S LATEST MASTERPIECE IS A 1:8 SCALE LAMBORGHINI REVUELTO - REDEFINING MINIATURE ART.

When it comes to model cars, there’s scale - and then there’s sculpture. And if anyone knows how to turn automotive obsession into art, it’s the team at Amalgam Collection. Since 1985, these UK-based artisans have been at the absolute top of the game, handcrafting miniature icons for the world’s most elite collectors, OEMs, and automotive royalty. Think Ferrari, McLaren, Bugatti and Pagani, all rendered in breathtaking detail at a scale that’s anything but child’s play. Their latest piece is a 1:8 scale model of the Lamborghini Revuelto, Sant’Agata Bolognese’s wild V12 hybrid HPEV. It’s limited to just 199 pieces, wears a blindingly bold Arancio Apodis paint job, and costs about R325,000, which could just as easily buy you an actual car. A very good actual car. But this isn’t just a model. It’s an artefact. Crafted using Lamborghini’s original CAD data, paint codes, and material specs, each model is over 62 cm long and takes a staggering 300 hours to build, after a development phase that soaks up more than 3,000 hours. From CNC-machined metal parts to laser-etched details and photo-etched components, every single piece is precision-engineered. The results speak for themselves - a level of accuracy that has to be seen to be believed, and even then, you might still do a double-take. Underneath the hood of the real Revuelto lies the most radical Lamborghini drivetrain ever created: a naturally aspirated V12 pumping out an astonishing 93.4 kW per litre, backed by three electric motors. It’s Lamborghini’s first plug-in hybrid, pushing out a combined wallop that flings it from 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, and on to a top speed north of 350 km/h. It’s also the first time a dual-clutch 8-speed gearbox finds a home behind a 12-cylinder bull, paired with cutting-edge electric torque vectoring for blistering agility.

The architecture is equally bonkers - a new carbon fibre monofuselage that’s lighter and stiffer than ever before, wrapped in a shape that channels classic Lambo drama through an aerospace-inspired filter. Think hexagonal tailpipes, muscular surfacing, and a silhouette that looks like it might take off rather than just accelerate. Even the cockpit has been redesigned with a “Feel Like a Pilot” concept, putting the driver at the centre of a techno-futurist command centre. And it’s that visual drama, combined with the underlying mechanical madness, that Amalgam has managed to miniaturise in frighteningly faithful detail. Working directly with Lamborghini’s own design and engineering teams, Amalgam scanned the real car using high-resolution 3D technology to replicate every crease, curve and surface with absolute precision. From the venting around the engine bay to the stitching patterns inside the cockpit, nothing’s left to chance. Each of the 199 Revuelto models is assembled by hand by a dedicated team of master craftsmen, using only the finest materials. And for collectors who want a deeper level of personalisation, Amalgam also offers bespoke commissions, built to match a specific real-world car right down to the chassis number and interior spec. It’s art, engineering, and obsession, all distilled into something you can actually fit on a shelf. If you're lucky enough to grab one before all 199 disappear, just know you’re not buying a toy - you’re buying a piece of the Lamborghini legacy, immortalised in miniature. We’re gonna have to stick to the more affordable one from Temu for R500.
