THE RIMAC NEVERA R SETS 24 NEW SPEED RECORDS TO BECOME THE KING OF SPEED - AGAIN.
The Croatian hypercar genius squad has done it again - shattering 24 performance records in one go, including reclaiming the coveted 0-400-0 km/h title with a mind-bending time of just 25.79 seconds. That’s over 2 seconds quicker than the previous benchmark. And yes, that record was held by... the standard Nevera. Let that sink in. This latest feat makes the Nevera R not just the fastest-accelerating electric car ever made, but the fastest-accelerating production car full stop. Electric, combustion, hybrid - it doesn’t matter. Rimac’s re-engineered monster just rewrote the laws of acceleration. Physics? Never heard of her. Back in 2023, the original Nevera stunned the world by claiming 23 records in a single day at the Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP) facility in Germany. Now, its angrier, more focused sibling has wiped that slate clean, beating every single one of those records in one brutal display of engineering might. It's not just quicker. It's smarter, grippier, more refined, and more vicious. Rimac calls it the final validation before customer deliveries. We call it a mic drop.
Record Highlights
That 431.45 km/h top speed now cements the Nevera R as the world’s fastest electric production car - again.
The Nevera R isn’t just a software tweak or a power bump. This is a deep mechanical transformation, dialled in for ultimate performance:
1,550 kW (2,107 hp) delivered by four independent motors, each under precise control from Rimac’s next-gen All-Wheel Torque Vectoring system.
100 calculations per second to adjust power to each wheel in real time.
New fixed rear wing and enlarged rear diffuser generate 15% more downforce while improving aero efficiency by 10%.
Specially developed Michelin Cup 2 tyres offer 5% more lateral grip and 10% less understeer, helping the R dig into corners with racecar precision.
Mate Rimac, Founder and CEO, sums it up best: “When we first introduced Nevera, it almost seemed like the pinnacle of hypercar performance had been reached… But now, through relentless innovation, Nevera R goes even faster, while still maintaining the comfort and practicality that makes Nevera a real, usable daily car. Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won’t stop here.”
Before this R-spec insanity, the Nevera was already rewriting the record books. It held:
The EV production car top speed record: 412 km/h
The Goodwood Hillclimb EV record: 49.32 seconds
The Nürburgring EV production car lap record: 7:05.298
And now the R is gunning for even those numbers, too. The Rimac Nevera R isn’t for mass production; just 40 examples will ever exist. Each one starts at a cool €2.3 million - or just under a mildly affordable R48,000,000!
Some of the Nevera R’s new benchmarks include:
