WANT A FORMULA ONE CAR FOR THE ROAD? THIS MERCEDES-AMG ONE CAN BE YOURS FOR AROUND R65,000,000.

Born from the minds behind multiple F1 World Championships and hand-crafted in AMG’s hallowed halls, the Mercedes-AMG ONE is as close to Lewis Hamilton’s race car as a number plate will ever allow. Limited to just 275 examples - all spoken for before the first bolt was torqued - it’s a hypercar that rewrites the rulebook by cramming actual Formula One tech into a road-legal shell. And this particular car? It’s practically still in the wrapper, with barely 100 miles on the clock. Unveiled in concept form at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show with Lewis Hamilton front and centre, the AMG ONE didn’t just borrow the seven-time World Champion’s name - he was directly involved in its development and even ordered two: one for himself, and one for his dad. Now that’s family goals. Other owners include ex-Merc F1 drivers Nico Rosberg and Valtteri Bottas, plus former McLaren-Mercedes pilot David Coulthard, making the owner's club about as exclusive as a Monaco pit lane party. Under the sculpted carbon-fibre skin sits the soul of a racer. Power comes from a 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 derived from Mercedes-AMG’s F1 W06 hybrid - a screaming 11,000rpm monster named PU106B, paired with not one, not two, but four electric motors. Together, they push out a colossal 772 kW (1,049 hp) to all four wheels via a seven-speed single-clutch automated manual gearbox and a motorsport-spec four-disc carbon clutch. It’s an engineering fever dream brought to life. The electric side of the powertrain is just as wild, a 118 kW (161 hp) MGU-K motor regenerates energy under braking, an 89 kW (121 hp) MGU-H motor spools the turbo and captures exhaust heat, and two more 118 kW (161 hp) motors up front give the AMG ONE all-wheel drive grip and pinpoint vectoring. All of this is managed by an 800-volt lithium-ion battery setup that allows for up to 18km of pure electric range - not that anyone’s buying this thing for a quiet trip to the shops.

Every inch of the car screams motorsport pedigree. There’s a two-piece active rear wing with Drag Reduction System (DRS), front diffuser flaps, active aero in the front wheel housings, and a massive roof scoop feeding the V6 beast below. Even the exhaust mimics F1 spec - a central cannon flanked by two auxiliary pipes, because subtlety is for the C-Class. Performance is monstrous; 0-100 km/h comes up in 2.9 seconds, and the top speed is a ballistic 352 km/h. But it’s the Nürburgring lap time that truly cemented the AMG ONE’s legacy. In 2022, with Maro Engel at the helm, it tore around the Nordschleife in 6:35.183, making it the fastest road-legal car to ever lap the Green Hell - beating the AMG GT Black Series by more than 13 seconds. And that was with damp patches on the track. The AMG ONE also broke records at Hockenheim (1:38.563), the Red Bull Ring (1:26.846), the Nürburgring GP layout (1:56.096), and in April 2023, it set a blistering 1:43.902 at Monza - again, the fastest road car ever.

This example of one of the most desirable and exclusive cars ever made has had only one owner from new and was declared new at first registration in the UK on 1st June 2023. The car comes with a full list of its mouth-watering specification, highlights of which include the following:

AMG high-performance ceramic composite brakes

AMG Ride Control suspension

LED lighting

Parktronic with front and reversing cameras

Keyless-Go start

Motorsport-specific MBUX multimedia system

AMG Performance sound system

3-stage Electronic Stability Program (ESP)

Acceleration Skid Control (ASC)

In addition, this car also has the Motorsport Styling Package of mainly cosmetic enhancements that added £85,000 to the purchase price. These include the following:

Exclusive paint finish in AMG Silver Arrow

Concept STAR: Mercedes-AMG Petronas Star Pattern on characteristic colour gradient

Optional concept WAVE: Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport Digital Flow in Petronas Green

AMG high-performance magnesium wheels in gloss black with colour accents in Petronas Green

Stitching and seat belts with colour accents in Petronas Green

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport logo in the centre console

Other colour accents in Petronas Green

In addition to the foregoing, the car comes complete with manufacturer's brochure, book pack, tool kit, battery chargers and car cover.

This AMG ONE is freshly serviced and still factory-fresh with around 100 miles travelled, includes its UK V5C Registration Certificate and a Mercedes-Benz Warranty Confirmation. It received a full first service in June 2024 (including a fresh dose of Alpha 2 coolant), and all filters were changed in April 2025. With its production capped, its tech lifted directly from the pinnacle of motorsport, and its name etched into the Nürburgring’s history books, the AMG ONE is more than a car - it’s a once-in-a-generation machine. And now, one of them is going under the hammer. Estimate: R59,000,000 – R69,000,000. Yuthuth.
