Home / Social media / Cars / Are Hydraulic E-Brakes Worth It?

Have you ever watched any pro drift series, or rallycross or even the World Rally Championship and notice how the drivers pull on a massive lever from time to time, that is what you'd call a hydraulic e-brake and that allows the driver to instantly lock up the rear wheels.

In drifting, hydraulic e-brakes help the drivers to engage a drift before they power over and let their engines do the rest of the work. In rallycross and the World Rally Championship, sometimes popping the hydraulic e-brake to engage in a slide is the fastest way around a corner.

But are they actually worth it? Well, it depends, are you installing this onto your mad drift car to do some skids, or just to your standard road car?

Hydraulic e-brakes most definitely have their place, but we'll leave it up to you to decide what car is best for them...
