ARE USED ELECTRIC CARS A BAD IDEA?

Electric cars are becoming significantly more common on the roads in recent times and are becoming a worthwhile choice in new car buying decisions as they are far cheaper to run in some countries, and the infrastructure for charging is growing steadily as well.

But unlike the petrol and diesel alternatives, is buying a used electric car a bad idea?

Well no, not necessarily. An internal combustion-engined car has far more components than that of an electric which is just one extra thing that could potentially break, wear out or need replacing. And over the years, petrol cars lose power and efficiency. Although batteries do wear over time, their performance and output do not.

If a used electric car has been well looked after, there is no reason as to why it would be any different to buying a used petrol or diesel-powered car.
