BMW UPDATES THE IX RANGE OF ELECTRIC SAVS - DECENT-LOOKING THINGS.

The new editions of the BMW iX Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) are rather cool, the innovations in the field of BMW eDrive technology go hand in hand with exterior and interior design changes that emphasise the sporty vibes of the EVs available as the BMW iX xDrive45, the BMW iX xDrive60 and the BMW iX M70 xDrive. BMW has given the iX Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) a fresh update, blending advanced BMW eDrive tech with sharper exterior and interior styling. Available as the iX xDrive45, iX xDrive60, and range-topping iX M70 xDrive, the lineup gets a more striking front end featuring a redesigned BMW kidney grille with a refined frame and a new vertical-diagonal pattern. The optional BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting comes standard on the M70. Redesigned headlights now include vertical daytime running lights and indicators, with adaptive LED headlights featuring cornering and city light functions as standard. The front and rear aprons now have a seamless look with more body-coloured surfaces for a sportier, more elegant stance. The M Sport package, now optional across the range, enhances the iX’s dynamic appeal with bold air intakes and vertical rear reflectors. Opting for the M Sport package Pro adds dark M Shadow Line headlights and taillights. The flagship iX M70 xDrive comes standard with these upgrades, plus an M-specific kidney grille with the M logo, black mirror caps, and exclusive 22-inch M light-alloy wheels. New colour options include Arctic Race Blue, Dune Grey, Carbon Black, Frozen Deep Grey, Frozen Pure Grey, Tanzanite Blue, and Space Silver, with Titanium Bronze trim available for the xDrive45 and xDrive60.

All variants retain electric all-wheel drive, with refined power electronics boosting performance. The iX xDrive45 now delivers 300 kW - up 60 kW - cutting its 0-100 km/h time to 5.1 seconds. The iX xDrive60 gains 15 kW for a total of 400 kW, hitting 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Both models top out at 200 km/h. The M70 xDrive cranks out up to 485 kW in My Mode Sport, with a monstrous 1,100 Nm of torque on tap with Launch Control, rocketing to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and maxing out at 250 km/h. Chassis and suspension tweaks accommodate the power boost, with a revised weight balance, optimized battery tech, and hydraulic rear axle support for better handling and ride comfort. Weight- and friction-optimized wheel bearings, plus low rolling resistance tyres with an A+ efficiency rating, further enhance efficiency. The iX now offers 21- and 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in four new styles, while a unique-to-segment 23-inch option pairs with noise-insulating foam-absorber tyres for a quieter ride. New battery cell technology increases the energy content of the high-voltage battery for the range, and new inverter technology for the power electronics optimises the power density of the drive system ensuring a high efficiency transfer of energy from the high-voltage battery to the electric motor. With a WLTP range of 563 to 701 km, the new BMW iX xDrive60 sets a new benchmark in its segment. The ranges of the other models increase to 490 to 602 km for the BMW iX xDrive45 and 521 to 600 km for the BMW iX M70 xDrive.
