WHEN A WORLD-FAMOUS AFTERMARKET AUTOMOTIVE TUNER GETS ITS HANDS ON A BOAT - THIS IS THE INSANE RESULT.
The name BRABUS is synonymous with complete aftermarket conversions on all manner of range-topping Mercedes-AMG models, the company transforms the already amazing cars into something very special. Conversions see a host of interior changes, visual changes and of course, power bumps of epic proportions. The work has afforded the company some grace with Mercedes-Benz that allows some conversions to keep factory warranties in place. It’s a big deal and has ensured the German-based tuner a worldwide footprint. We’re massive fans of most of their work, some is a little odd, like giving G-Wagons even more power because those 4x4 things are already quite pointless to start with, only good for showing everyone in town that you secured a government tender. But what happens when a company with the skills and expertise of BRABUS starts fiddling with other modes of transport? Judging by the BRABUS Shadow 1200 Cross Top model, optionally available as Black Ops Signature Edition, the result is magic. The BRABUS Shadow 1200 Cross Top Black Ops Signature Edition is a masterpiece of marine engineering and it’s stupidly powerful. It features triple Mercury Racing 5.7-litre V10 engines that collectively deliver a completely bonkers 1,200 hp (883 kW). With effortless cruising at 40 knots (74 km/h) and a fast-for-water top speed of 55 knots (120 km/h), the high-performance watercraft redefines fun on the water. The helm of the Shadow 1200 is a sanctuary of control and innovation - its clean, functional cockpit is equipped with cutting-edge marine technology and it looks like a high-end racecar. Highlights include an Intelligent Steering Module for precision control of the bow thruster, trim tabs, and audio system; Simrad Navigational Displays with intuitive touchscreen interfaces with an optional extended navigation package and a Mercury JPO (Joystick Piloting for Outboards) for enhanced maneuverability with features like Skyhook, Mercury autopilot, and integrated reverse and night vision cameras.
The watercraft measures 13.91 m in length with a 4.11 m beam and a 1.2 m draft. It can accommodate up to four passengers in two cabins. The fuel capacity is large at 1,390 litres which will feed the trio of thirsty V8 powerplants, but for how long is anyone’s guess? True to BRABUS’s signature aesthetic, the Shadow 1200 is a bold statement of luxury and power. Its modular design makes it perfect for adrenaline-fueled rides or relaxed social gatherings, adapting effortlessly to any adventure. Finished in exclusive BRABUS Graphite Black with matching upholstery, the Shadow 1200 exudes sophistication. Signature graphics flow across the sleek hull, complemented by black chrome badges. For those seeking an even more striking look, the bespoke outfitting package adds roof racks, waterski frames, and roof pillars in unmistakable BRABUS Red. Step inside, and the Shadow 1200 continues to impress. The cabin and optional aft accommodation feature premium BRABUS Masterpiece leather, carbon fibre accents, and BRABUS Sign of Excellence badging. Every detail is a tribute to high-performance luxury, creating an environment that’s as comfortable as it is stylish. Pricing hasn’t been released, but then again, this kind of thing isn’t aimed at people who have to ask prices, clientele will be made up of people swiping an exclusive black bank card, transferring crypto or shouting at an assistant to “make it happen”.
