THE BRABUS ROCKET 900 911 TURBO S IS WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF - EXPENSIVE DREAMS!
The name BRABUS is synonymous with big power conversions that also make your eyes very happy, and its exclusive run of limited-edition cars under the Rocket nameplate are some of the best you’ll see. What you see here is easily the best creation to date in the Rocket Legacy - the BRABUS 900 Rocket R Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe. It’s the first time the world-renowned aftermarket tuning company had turned its focus to a Porsche, and we’re very happy they did. Using the already near-perfect Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe as the base for the limited-edition offering meant that just about anything done would need to be special, and should either match or exceed the quality offered by the German automaker, and as you can see from the images and the associated video, Brabus have absolutely rocked it. The only downside we can see is that there will only be 25 of these conversions offered up, and it will be massively expensive. Well, to regular folk like this here SXdrv writer it’s massive money, but there will be loads of people out there who can easily afford one but will be rather unhappy to not secure one of these for their collections. In typical Brabus fashion, there’s extensive use of carbon fibre to transform the 911 into this amazing creation, but the company is more well-known for its ability to extract more power from the cars it decides to offer conversions on. It’s no different with the BRABUS 900 Rocket R Porsche.
There’s a lot to this car, once completed. Its tarts up front with an active carbon fibre lip spoiler that can be controlled from the cockpit. There’s a BRABUS Widestar front bumper and front fenders and Kevlar-lined wheel arches and exposed-carbon rocker panels. The 900 Rocket R rolls on 22/21-inch BRABUS Monoblock P 5-spoke Platinum Edition wheels with carbon fibre aero discs, and a specially developed BRABUS sports suspension system using BRABUS coilovers and fully adjustable shocks. The cabin features high-gloss carbon fibre elements in the centre console, aluminium BRABUS pedal pads, and carbon fibre door sill trims with an integrated LED backlit BRABUS logo. The air vent surrounds, the speaker grills and the switches feature a Shadow Chrome finish. BRABUS Ellipse quilted leather covers the entire cabin, while the headliner is in black Alcantara. The main ingredient in the Rocket R recipe is the powerplant. In OEM guise the twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six produces 478 kW, in BRABUS guise that figure rises to 662 kW thanks to a pair of BRABUS high-performance turbochargers. This sees the stunner of a 911 capable of a 0-100 km/h dash in 2.5 seconds, and 0-200 km/h in just 7.2 seconds. There will only be 25 units on offer to the world market, and it costs a mere €549 185, or in our sad currency, a whopping R11 291 982.41 give or take a few hundred grand.
Take a look at the YouTube video that shows off the amazing new addition to the BRABUS Rocket line of exclusive, limited-edition creations, this time using the already brilliant Porsche 911 Turbo S as the base.
