DO LOW-PRESSURE TYRES MAKE YOUR CAR FASTER?

We all know that dedicated drag racing cars prefer to use a flatter tyre at far lower pressures to increase the surface area of of the part of the tyre that makes contact with the drag strip to increase traction and give them the best possible start thanks to the most amount of grip on the road, however, how does this translate into ordinary streetcars?

Well, lowing tyre pressure might give you some advantages in some very rare conditions such as if you are stuck in mud or have to travel in thick snow conditions, but aside from that, if you are running your tyres at very low pressures you risk damaging your tyres especially at higher speeds!

The best possible advice for road cars is to run your tyres at factory specifications as at the end of the day it is your tyres that is the only contact between your car and the road!
