IT'S FAST. IT'S FURIOUS. IT'S A SUPRA - OH AND IT ALSO MAKES 1100HP!












2JZ. Three simple letters that will make any car enthusiast excited! So when you want REAL power, there's not much better than building a fast Supra with a massive turbo attached to it! 

The Toyota Supra is a brilliant piece of Japanese ingenuity and anyone that says otherwise are either stupid or jealous of it's brilliance. This comes down to two very important factors, for us anyway - firstly it still looks amazing and timeless even though it was built in the 90's and of course the holy grail - that bulletproof 2JZ-GTE motor that it comes with! The 2JZ motor has been a highly praised powerplant, not just in the Supra but also in many other cars it gets transplanted to, as it's one of the most popular and bang for buck motor swaps that you can do. Guys stick Supra motors into anything from drift cars, drag cars, track cars and of course, tarmac terrorising road cars. We've seen these motors in Hot Rods, American Musclecars, multiple models of BMWs, old school Mercs, Volvos and even stuff like Mazda RX7s and Nissan Skyline GTRs, so yes the 2JZ is a firm favourite around the world.

Luckily today is not a sacrilegious day of ripping out Rotaries and RB26 motors and this is actually a Supra, with a Supra motor inside -  a very, very strong one! This silver surfer has been built for one thing and one thing only, to do ridiculous top end runs. It has been built by tuning genius Steve Clark from No Sweat Racing and the upgrades on it is pretty ludicrous. 

The 2JZ motor is already capable of handling loads of power in stock form with just a turbo upgrade but this motor has been fully built so it can crack the 1000HP mark with ease. It has seen the addition of Carrillo pistons, Brian Crower rods , ACL race bearings, Brian Crower head gasket, 1/2'' ARP head studs, ARP main studs, Brian Crower main caps, Gates Racing cam belt, Brian Crower 1mm o/s Valves, Brian Crower valve springs and retainers, Brian Crower stage 4 cams, a humongous Borg Warner S400 turbo, Tial wastegate, No Sweat Custom exhaust manifold, intercooler and boost pipes, Haltech Platinum Sport 2000 ECU with flex fuel and boost control, tripple Bosch motorsport fuel pumps and 2200cc injectors - yes that's quite the mouthful - but that's what's needed to get the car capable of pushing out 1100HP, not on pump fuel of course but on racing fuel, with a much higher octane.

The engine wasn't the only part that was altered as with such a big power figure under the hood you need some better roadholding and brakes as well. So with this in mind, the brakes were upgraded to a Vari big brake kit with bigger, slotted discs and some huge calipers. The stock suspension was also removed and in it's place sits a BC Racing coilover suspension, with height and dampening adjustability. The wheels are AVS split 5 spokes in 18" wrapped in some sticky Yokohama Advan Sport tyres to help with traction when trying to put all the power down on the road.

On the inside, not much has changed, with just the steering wheel changing to a Sparco unit, some additional gauges to keep and eye on all the vitals, a Momo gearknob and the Flex fuel and boost controller unit.

The Supra might be quite old now in car terms, but it's definitely a long time away from being forgotten and in actual fact it's just becoming more and more popular every year and we're sure you'll still be seeing videos of them kicking the asses of many others cars for lots of years to come. 2JZ for life!
