KIA RELEASES A SKETCH OF THEIR ALL-NEW 2018 CEED

The official public debut for Kia's next-generation Ceed hatchback is scheduled for the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and, to give us a hint of what to expect, they've released a fresh teaser sketch of their new design direction.

The Korean's are due to unveil both the Ceed “alongside a second member of the Ceed family” in Geneva, promising that this third-generation will feature “innovative new technologies and engines, a mature and athletic new design, and a more engaging drive”.

According to the brand’s European design centre in Frankfurt, they're the guys who penned the new design, the Ceed’s fresh look was “inspired by the fastback styling of the Stinger”.

Also, both interestingly as well as happily for most, Kia has also revised the name, from the stylised and rather odd “cee’d” to the more conventional “Ceed”. Which is nice.

Kia South Africa hinted that the new Ceed will make it to our shores, although many details like spec and timing are still to be resolved.

We're looking forward to seeing what they've done, it looks way more exciting than their outgoing model.
