LEWIS HAMILTON HINTED AT LEAVING F1 AFTER 2020

Why Lewis Hamilton hinted at leaving Formula 1 after 2020.

Lewis Hamilton is knocking on the door of his 7th Drivers World Championship in Formula 1 and, just a week ago, he broke the world record for the most amount of wins in Formula 1 history, surpassing Michael Schumacher. So it goes without saying that Lewis Hamilton is in one of the best positions in the motorsport that he possibly can be.

However, with just a few short races until the 2020 Formula 1 season comes to an end, Lewis Hamilton still doesn't have a contract for 2021.

The Mercedes driver stated: "There is no guarantee that I'll be continuing in 2021, even though I want to return and intend on negotiating a new deal." Some say this statement was nothing more than a negotiating tactic, which he is known for doing from time to time, even from behind the wheel.

But, probably more concerning is Hamilton's comment after learning that Mercedes team boss, Torger Christian Wolff, will be retiring from his current position in the team next year. "Well, I don't even know if I'm going to be here next year, so it's not really a concern for me at the moment", said Hamilton.
