MK VIII VW GOLF R FIRST LOOK – DRIFT MODE?

The first look at the Volkswagen MK VIII Golf R that apparently is going to have a drift mode.

The Volkswagen Golf R range has just got a new addition, confirmed for 2022, and it's without a doubt the most impressive Golf R to date!

The VW MK VIII Golf R will feature exactly the same engine as the previous version, the mighty Audi-designed EA888 2.0 Litre 4 cylinder turbo, which makes roughly 315hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. It'll do 0-60 miles per hour in about 4.7 seconds in the DSG version. What's more, the US and European versions are going to deliver the exact same spec which is the first for a Golf R.

Excitingly, the new Golf R will feature two new driving models, one called "special mode", which was designed purposely with track racing in mind. This new mode shaves off a whopping 17 seconds off the previous versions Nurburgring time and now is on par with the latest Porsche GT3.

Secondly, the new 2022 Golf R will feature a drift mode!
