NEW AUDI S3 VS OLD RS3 – WHICH ONE WILL WIN IN A DRAG RACE?

The Audi A3 sports range, which consists of the S3 and the more aggressive Audi RS3, are one of the world's best hot-hatch offerings. But what if you were to compare the older RS3 with a modern Audi S3 in a drag race, which one would win?

The brand new 2021 Audi S3 features a more compact 4-cylinder 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine, which produces an impressive 310hp and 400 Nm of torque. It features a very quick 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox with launch control, as well as a Quattro all-wheel-drive system, and all this weighs in at just 1,575kg.

The older 2012, more aggressive Audi RS3, on the other hand, features a bigger 5-cylinder 2.5L turbocharged petrol engine. It produces 340hp and 450 Nm of torque, and weighs in at exactly the same 1,575kg.

So on paper, the 2012 Audi RS3 looks like it's the favourite. But what would the outcome actually be, considering it's nearly a decade older than the 2021 Audi S3?
