POLESTAR 2 GETS SMARTER, SLEEKER, AND SERIOUSLY SONIC FOR 2026

The Polestar 2 has always been the cool, collected Swede in the EV world - a bit of minimalist charm with a solid dose of performance. But for 2026, it’s getting a few meaningful upgrades that should make it an even more compelling choice for those who want their electric car with a side of tech and top-tier audio. And yes, the new model is now available to order in Europe, with other markets rolling out throughout the year. At the heart of the latest Polestar 2 is a new Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, giving the infotainment system a significant boost. Expect quicker app downloads, faster response times, and smoother overall performance on the center display. In short: fewer lags, snappier interactions, and an experience that feels properly modern in an era where tech is king. If you take your sound seriously, Polestar has something special: an optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system. Packing 14 speakers and a hefty 1,350 watts of power, this system brings a whole new level of clarity and depth to in-car audio. With Tweeter-on-Top technology for sharper high notes and Continuum midrange speakers to minimize distortion, you’ll hear every note exactly as intended - whether you’re blasting Swedish house music or a crisp acoustic set. Visually, the Polestar 2 remains understated yet stylish, but a few updates keep things fresh. There’s a new exterior color, Dune, replacing Jupiter. Think of it as a refined metallic with a warm, sandy tone. For those opting for the Performance Pack, the car now gets new lightweight 20-inch forged alloy wheels, the lightest available on a Polestar 2 to date.

Inside, a new bio-attributed MicroTech upholstery in Charcoal with distinctive quilting and Black Ash deco is now an option with the Plus Pack. Sustainability meets style in a way only Polestar can pull off. Gone are the days of fumbling with apps or cards at public charging stations. The 2026 Polestar 2 now features Plug & Charge technology, meaning you just plug in, and the car takes care of the rest. No authentication hassles - just effortless EV living. Polestar has also introduced a new optional Prime Pack, bundling the Pilot, Plus, and Climate packs alongside rear privacy glass. That means all the best features in one convenient package, with a tint now applied to the rear side and tailgate windows for an extra touch of sleekness. For select markets, the Standard range Single motor variant now comes with a 70 kWh battery from CATL, replacing the previous 69 kWh LG Chem unit. The result? A slight but welcome range bump to 554 km, up from 546 km. It’s not a game-changer, but hey, more range is always a win. Polestar remains focused on design, performance, and sustainability, with a growing lineup that includes the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, plus upcoming models like the Polestar 5 (a four-door GT set to arrive later this year) and the Polestar 6 roadster. With a push toward climate neutrality by 2040, the brand is making strides in reducing emissions while keeping things seriously stylish. So, is the 2026 Polestar 2 the most thrilling EV out there? Maybe not. But is it a solid, refined, and ever-improving electric car with premium tech and Scandinavian cool? Absolutely.

Take a look at the YouTube video that's admittedly from a year back, but it shows off the rather similar pre-updated Polestar 2. We're sure the powers that be at Polestar will create a new video, but at the time of the press release, no accompanying video made it to the 'Tube: Polestar 2 Provence | Polestar | Polestar Cars
