THE AC SCHNITZER-FETTLED RSR BMW M2 IS THE PERFECT 'RING TOOL.

AC Schnitzer, the renowned tuning company with 37 years of history under its belt, has once again brought its expertise to bear on the latest MINI Hatch (F66). Founded in 1987 in Aachen, Germany, AC Schnitzer has long been a key player in the world of automotive performance tuning. What began as a collaboration between entrepreneur and motorsport enthusiast Willi Kohl and motorsports engineer Herbert Schnitzer has grown into a global icon. The duo's vision was clear from the start: blend business acumen with technical prowess to create a tuning brand that set new standards in the automotive world. Originally a subsidiary of Schnitzer Motorsport, known for its success in touring car racing, AC Schnitzer soon carved out a niche for itself by offering high-performance yet street-friendly modifications. Their work on the iconic BMW E30 3 Series in the late '80s set the tone, with enhanced engine performance, suspension tweaks, and custom styling that far outpaced factory offerings. These days the ACS brand is well-known for creating some of the coolest components and upgrades for modern BMWs, and their quality is so high that in most cases, the factory BMW warranty can remain in place, which is a big thing for cars of this calibre. The German-based tuner has recently released a host of new products and complete upgrade packages for the latest BMW M range, which have been hitting the market thick and fast. We just showed you the company’s options for the new G80/G81 BMW M3 and M3 Touring, and now the company has turned its attention to what we think is one of the coolest modern M cars, the compact but fast AF BMW M2.

These are not normal upgrades though, well they are, but they’re upgrades carried out on this specific pair of new M2 models get all the best AC Schnitzer upgrades along with much, much more. These cars will still be 100 % street legal, but the street they will be driving on the famed Nurburgring track. Interesting little fact, during Public Sessions (Public Driving, Touristenfahrten), the Nürburgring is seen as a regular one-way public toll road by German authorities. Drivers are as such allowed by law to drive as fast as they want to, the only stipulation being that they must be in control of their cars at all times. We watch a lot of auto Addiction, so we know that’s not always the case. Because they’ll be used for driver training and available to hire for some ‘Ring laps. These track tools are based on the BMW M2 with the full AC Schnitzer conversion. According to the motto: "Form follows Function", AC Schnitzer equips this pair of RSR BMW M2 with 110 mm carbon sports tailpipes, 20-inch AC1 alloy wheels wrapped in Cup tyres in a wide 285/30R20, and adding in more for the handling, there’s a full custom aerodynamic conversion designed for consistent downforce. This includes the AC Schnitzer front splitter, winglets for the front air intake, a rear roof spoiler, the racing rear wing in carbon fibre with a matching Gurney flap and the rear diffuser. There’s also the AC Schnitzer rear skirt protection film, the AC Schnitzer aluminium pedals with matching footrest and the aluminium cover for the iDrive system controller to add a finishing touch. Using top-of-the-range KW race-spec track suspension, exclusively designed and setup by the AC Schnitzer gurus. There are also Sparco sports seats with Schroth 4-point harnesses and a Wiechers clubsport half cage to up the ante in the safety stakes. With some special livery, this pair of RSR M2 Tracktools are rather easy to recognise even from a distance. Like seriously, how damn good do they look?

Take a look at the YouTube video that shows off what the BMW M2 is like once it's been through the hands of the AC Schnitzer technicians. The RSR version will offer up the same performance but with added safety to try and keep people safe when the M2 is used on the 'Ring by drivers who have less high-speed driving skills than their egos think they have - and they look damn good too: We fly to Germany to see the NEW AC Schnitzer G87 M2 (ESSEN MOTOR SHOW) S2 E6 | Motech Performance
