THE HENNESSEY PERFORMANCE VELOCIRAPTOR 500 BRONCO RAPTOR IS HIGH ON OUR WANT LIST!
Texas-based hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator, Hennessey Performance, has started customer deliveries of its latest VelociRaptor 500 Bronco Raptor, an absolutely amazing take on the retro-styled 4x4 that the American market is hogging all to itself. The men in white coats (or possibly denim with a flannel shirt and cowboy hat) focused on upgrading the new Bronco’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine to bump up the power and improve the drivability on and off road. Part of the work includes a high-capacity intercooler and, a tune on the engine management system to raise the boost and enhance the overall drive. This upgrade package has been given a proper manly and macho name like the rest of the conversions carried out by the firm, and so what you see here is the VelociRaptor 500. We will happily bet everything we own on the fact that not a single employee at Hennessey Performance drinks Bud Light. Hennessey's engineers recently travelled to Colorado’s Rocky Mountains to test the VelociRaptor 500 Bronco in challenging conditions like as snowstorms and freezing temperatures. Luckily they also gifted the Ford 4x4 with a set of Hennessey's custom 20-inch wheels with some monster-sized 37-inch off-road tyres so tackling the harsh terrain is a breeze.
According to John Hennessey, the company's founder, and CEO, "The VelociRaptor 500 Bronco is one of our most agile and capable off-road offerings — it's nearly unstoppable off the pavement. Our 500 horsepower upgrade pairs perfectly with Ford's rugged Bronco Raptor 4x4 as we improve upon the factory's high-performance offering and enhance it with more power and a more aggressive appearance." The VelociRaptor 500 package, which is priced from $28,950 (over R500k in our horrid currency), doesn’t include the base Ford Bronco Raptor - that’s gonna be over $80 000 to start with. You’ll know when you see one of these 4x4s that’s been through the Hennessey factory because other changes include a set of custom Hennessey VelociRaptor bumpers, some high-powered LED off-road lights, those aforementioned Hennessey 10-spoke wheels, and bespoke VelociRaptor 500 Bronco badging. The interior has also seen some attention and so in the cabin, you’ll find embroidered headrests, all-weather floor mats, and a unique build number plaque.
