THE MOST POWERFUL SERIES PRODUCTION M-BADGED CAR EVER IS HERE - THE BMW XM LABEL RED - AND IT'S AN SAV.

It was just the other day that we reported on the all-new BMW XM, and one of its immediate claims to fame is that the electrically-assisted SAV had a focus on power with a whopping 485 kW with 800 Nm of torque from its twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 combined with the electric drive system. As expected this SAV has brilliant performance, able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds and that’s very impressive considering the size of the thing. It’s one of BMW’s most powerful production cars, but when we told you all of this the first time around we made mention of an upcoming sibling that would, in fact, be the German automaker’s most powerful production M-Division car ever under the name of the BMW XM Label Red. At the time we thought the car would have a power output in the region of 550 kW with massive torque up at the 1000 Nm mark. It was thought that at least 430 kW would be produced by the combustion engine with 145 kW coming from the additional electric motor. Well, the BMW XM Label Red has arrived, and we can confirm a few things.

The M HYBRID system in the BMW XM Label Red does actually harness a mind-blowing electrified powerplant in what is now one of the highest-performance models from BMW M, ever. The electric motor and V8 conventional engine work together in perfect harmony that delivers instant acceleration that will leave your organs squished into your spine. This killer combo matches the drive system of the new BMW M Hybrid V8 endurance racing car, which if you’ll recall made a smashing debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona race in the North American IMSA series earlier this year and should do the same for events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans coming up later in the year. The rumours were right, there is indeed 550 kW (748 hp) on tap and the torque is at 1 000 Nm and it officially claims the title of the most powerful BMW M car to date. The new SAV also features custom-built chassis technology and ultra-responsive, high-precision powertrain and chassis control. The BMW XM Label Red is a limited-number car and so the exclusive edition will be limited to just 500 examples worldwide, and to make it easily identifiable it will feature exterior paint in BMW Individual Frozen Carbon Black metallic with Toronto Red metallic highlights and accents. The car looks like it will retail for around R3 900 000 if the UK pricing is any indication. Thankfully there are loads od local die-hard BMW M fanatics so we may well see one on our shores.

Take a look at the YouTube video showcasing the most powerful M-car to date, which is also the most futuristic-looking car from the automaker. We have to admit it, this Label Red SAV is one serious creation that has that typical BMW "you love it or hate it" vibe going on - see for yourself: The 2024 BMW XM Label Red: Conquer New Dimensions | BMW USA
