THE PRAGA BOHEMIA - POSSIBLY THE BEST WAY TO BUILD A HYPERCAR AROUND A NISSAN GT-R ENGINE.

If you’re at all involved in motorsports you’ll likely recognise the Praga name. The company is renowned for building some of the most competitive karts in the world used by many a World Champion. The thing is, when a company knows how to make things fast, especially in an environment where all class competitors have the same limited engines and power and where the chassis design and dynamics are what afford racers an advantage, it would make sense then that if the same company put all of their chassis building knowledge into a proper car that it would also be something special. The company has already dabbled in creating fast cars in the form of the RS4, R1R and the more recent R1, but the new Bohema is one that’s made for both street and track, and it’s properly fast. There are a few smaller, bespoke automakers that use their own engines and engine tech, but in the case of the Praga Bohema we find that the car is build around Nissan’s PL38DETT powerplant.

The Praga Bohema is set to be a limited number car with just 89 units on offer which will no doubt bump up the desirability of the fast car. The car was built following three basic core principles; lightweight, carbon and petrol. The carbon fibre monocoque body and engine combine to weigh just 982 kg and with the twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre GT-R-esque engine producing a claimed 522 kW (700 hp) with 725 Nm of torque that’s sent to the rear wheels. This means the car can hit 100km/h in just 2.3-seconds and has a top speed over the 300 km/h mark. The body design and aero sees the Bohema creating as much as 900 kg of downforce at 250 km/h.  Inside the Bohema offers comfort and functionality and features a host of bespoke, hand-assembled components. There’s hand-stitched Alcantara and leather, and every detail is perfected to achieve exquisite design and functionality, from the 56 individual carbon parts to the state-of-the-art machined consoles and buttons.
