WHY STREET RACING WILL NEVER STOP

If you think of street racing and its origins, a lot of people will automatically point towards the Fast and the Furious movies, however, that couldn't be further from the truth. In modern times, the original Fast and the Furious movies could be responsible for putting street racing into the forefront of pop culture, but street racing as a whole dates back much, much further.


Even in movies, there were a couple made back in the 1950s that focussed on street racing, and there was quite a number made in the 1970s and even 1980s.


But the concept of having a quick race between you and your opponent on a public road has probably been around since the first cars were made and has never died off, but why exactly is that?
