YOU CAN OWN THE FERRARI SF-24 F1 - AS AN OFFICIAL RED LEGO TECHNIC KIT.

When it comes to Formula 1, Ferrari needs no introduction, but their 2024 challenger - the SF-24 - is a thoroughbred even by Maranello’s standards. With Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc at the helm, this beast has already carved a legacy in the heat of competition. The Ferrari SF-24 has flexed its muscles with five race victories so far this season. Leclerc brought home the glory at the prestigious Monaco and Italian Grands Prix, while Sainz clinched a thrilling win in Mexico City. And when it came to teamwork, the SF-24 delivered stunning 1-2 finishes at the Australian and United States Grands Prix. With 19 podiums, 4 pole positions, and 4 fastest laps, the SF-24 has been properly competitive this year and is going to be one of those F1 cars that’s remembered for seasons to come. The heart of the SF-24 is a meticulously engineered V6 hybrid engine. This 1600 cc powerhouse churns out an eye-watering 544.64 kW and delivers 500 Nm of torque, courtesy of a single turbocharger and some hybrid power. Revving up to 15,000 rpm, it gives off a great soundtrack that gives goosebumps on every pass. It’s paired with a longitudinal gearbox featuring 8 forward gears and a hydraulically controlled rear differential. Ferrari’s expertise in carbon fibre composites shines through in the SF-24’s chassis that’s constructed with a honeycomb structure and integrated halo cockpit protection, striking the perfect balance between safety and performance. The car tips the scales at just 798 kg, including fluids and the driver. There is a lighter option available though that features an all-plastic ABS construction that’s also a heck of a lot cheaper.

Just in time for Christmas, but also not, the folks at LEGO just revealed a buildable version of the Ferrari SF-24, except in a weird bit of timing, it’s only available from March of next year. We’re assuming that it may be to gauge the interest so that they manufacture just enough of them to make collectors happy while also not making too many to devalue them at some point. On that note, this here scribe does have a birthday in March. Just saying. The LEGO Technic Ferrari SF-24 F1 car allows fans to get hands-on to assemble one of the most legendary Ferrari cars in the sport, and unlike the usual block stuff from LEGO, it’s a highly detailed model, as is the norm for Technic kits. The new kit features intricate aerodynamic details, such as an opening DRS, Pirelli-printed slick tyres and a V6 engine with a spinning MGU-H, letting builders imagine the thrill of a last-lap showdown before placing the set on display. The set features key functions such as front & back suspension, with a 2-speed gearbox which is great to learn from as it offers an in-depth view of the mechanics of one of the fastest cars on the grid. With 1,361 pieces, the set will provide fans with the unique experience of building one of the most instantly recognizable race cars ever, and they’ll have a much easier time than the actual Ferrari mechanics who need to keep the real thing competitive. The LEGO Technic Ferrari SF-24 F1 car measures over 13 cm high, 61 cm long and 24 cm wide. It’s set to retail for $299.99, which is about five and a half grand this side, but the way things go it’ll probably be more than that. Still, not bad at just over R4/piece.

Take a look at the YouTube video that shows off the awesome Ferrari SF-24 Formula One car as campaigned by Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc during the 2024 season - an arguably great year for the car and team. As you can see, the LEGO Technic kit is rather detailed for a block-style kit when you compare to this actual car: SF-24 Car Launch | Ferrari
