YOU'LL EITHER LOVE OR HATE THE ALL-NEW PATROL NISMO - THE BIGGEST AND BADDEST NISMO TO DATE.

When you think “NISMO,” your mind usually goes straight to snarling GT-Rs and track-honed Z-cars. But in the Middle East, performance looks a little different – and a lot bigger. Enter the 2024 Nissan Patrol NISMO, a hulking V8-powered SUV tuned for road presence, outright grunt, and Gulf-States swagger. Unveiled under the lights at Nissan’s "NISMO Nights" event in Dubai, the latest Patrol NISMO is a mad evolution of the flagship SUV, merging luxury with motorsport-inspired aggression. Whether you love it or side-eye it for its proportions, there’s no denying it commands attention. At first glance, this isn’t your average family off-roader. The 2024 Patrol NISMO gets a more sculpted and aerodynamically enhanced body, with signature red accents, carbon fibre touches, and a newly redesigned honeycomb grille inspired by the Nissan V-Motion look. The rear gets a diffuser-style bumper and twin chrome exhausts, while it rides on chunky 22-inch two-tone alloy wheels that were purpose-designed to withstand harsh terrain and high-speed runs. This is a Patrol with a serious attitude. The front bumper even hides integrated canards to help airflow and high-speed stability, not exactly typical off-roader kit. Under the bonnet, the Patrol NISMO still packs a proper old-school punch: a 5.6-litre naturally aspirated V8, hand-assembled by Nissan’s Takumi master engine builders in Japan. It’s tuned to produce a hearty 370 kW and 700 Nm - enough to give this full-size SUV the sort of forward thrust more often seen in sports sedans.

While it’s not turbocharged or hybridised, there’s a satisfying purity to that V8 rumble, and NISMO has reworked the suspension and steering for sharper response and better high-speed stability – especially handy when crossing the desert at Autobahn speeds. Let’s be real: this NISMO Patrol isn’t a global model. It’s built specifically for the Middle East, a region where the Patrol nameplate is legendary, and where customers expect their SUVs to be powerful, premium, and unmistakably bold. This version was designed with direct feedback from local enthusiasts and represents a kind of motorsport-meets-luxury formula that just works in the Gulf. Inside, it’s leather and Alcantara all the way, with red stitching, carbon fibre trim, and sports seats that hug tighter than your aunt at a family reunion. There's a 12.3-inch infotainment system, wireless charging, and even Amazon Alexa integration – all aimed at making the daily drive feel that little bit more special. Or if you're more likely to use it for high-speed convoy runs through Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road, you'll be more than catered for. The 2024 update brings a sleeker look, tighter aerodynamics, and enhanced tech across the board. It’s still every bit the luxury bruiser it always was, but the new model sharpens the edges, both visually and dynamically. Is it subtle? Not a chance. But then again, subtlety has never been the point of the Patrol NISMO. Like it or not, the 2024 Patrol NISMO is something special - a muscle truck with motorsport DNA and Gulf market cred. It may not suit everyone’s taste, but for the buyers it's aimed at, this is the ultimate expression of SUV theatre. Loud, proud, and capable of flattening dunes and egos in equal measure. Love it. Hate it. But you definitely won’t miss it.
