THIS MUSTANG AIN'T JUST A ONE TRICK PONY.

Whenever the words "Muscle Car" gets mentioned, one of the first cars that comes to mind for most people is the Ford Mustang. It's been around since 1965 and the latest 2016 Mustang is definitely one of the greatest

Since its launch in 1965 the Mustang has really become a very iconic car, with a popular song, Mustang Sally, written about it as well as it starring in multiple movies, like when a 1968 Fastback was used by Steve McQueen in the famous chase scene in the 1968 film Bullitt. A 1971 Mach 1 was featured in the Bond film, Diamonds are Forever and who could ever forget the infamous Eleanor from the movie Gone in 60 Seconds. So what we're trying to say is the Mustang really has some great credentials behind its name and has over the years become a true cult car.

The latest Mustang is the first ever to be produced in right hand drive and it's also the first to feature an independent rear suspension system, meaning that it can now handle like a real car and no just be seen as a straight line car anymore.

With the Mustang now being offered in RHD it meant that we'd be getting the car for the first time officially in South Africa. RGMotorsport in Johannesburg got hold of one of these new Mustangs almost as soon as it left the dealership floor and did some trickery to add a few more ponies to this wicked Pony. (Excuse the pun).

They did their RGM Stage 1 conversion on this V8 powerhouse which consists on a Techniflow custom manufactured stainless steel performance exhaust system with the catalytic convertors removed as well. They also fitted a performance air filter for better breathing and then lastly the car received a RGM custom engine software upgrade to streamline the entire setup and extract the maximum power out of that 5.0L V8 powerplant.

The end result is quite impressive to say the least. From the factory the Mustang produces 306kW and 530Nm on the engine and after RGM have played around with it, it now produces 350kW and 595Nm on the engine and the new exhaust has also made the car sound the part, loud and in your face, just the way we like it!

To make this pony shine on the outside, just like it now does on the inside, the wheels were colour coded gloss black while silver stripes were added to the car. To match the new stripes, the front lip, sideskirts and rear diffuser were also sprayed the same grey.

RGM has transformed this pony into a wild stallion, difficult to tame and a whole lotta fun to saddle up!
