AHH, THE BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION - BECAUSE SUBTLETY IS OVERRATED.
There are powerful SUVs… and then there’s this. The BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION takes the unapologetically brick-shaped Mercedes-AMG G 63 (W465) and fires it straight through the atmosphere with 662 kW, 1,250 Nm, and a sense of humour only BRABUS could justify. This is excess, engineered. Loudly. Gloriously. And limited to just 30 examples worldwide. The ROCKET name returns with serious vibes, wrapping a 900 hp V8 Biturbo drivetrain in a full carbon fibre widebody and finishing it in signature Stealth Grey. Every surface, scoop and flare exists for one reason: deliver a full-blown 1-Second-Wow before your brain has time to ask why a G-Class needs to do 0–100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
Up front, a BRABUS-designed fascia with oversized air intakes feeds the cooling systems and front brakes, while an integrated carbon fibre front spoiler plants the nose at speed. The illuminated carbon grille frame and glowing BRABUS emblem make sure nobody mistakes this for a stock G, even after dark. The power dome hood seals the deal with pure menace. Along the sides, extra-wide exposed-carbon fender flares stretch the G-Class silhouette to absurd proportions, paired with LED-illuminated running boards that double as a runway. Out back, a new carbon roof spoiler, carbon rear fascia and an illuminated red BRABUS logo bring the widebody drama to a perfectly symmetrical close.
Under the hood sits the BRABUS ROCKET 900 4.5-litre V8 Biturbo, extensively re-engineered from the AMG unit. Bigger bores, forged internals, a custom crankshaft, reinforced rods and a bespoke twin-turbo system pushing up to 1.4 bar of boost. The result is a seismic 662 kW and 1,250 Nm, electronically limited to 1,050 Nm so the drivetrain doesn’t file a formal complaint. Acceleration is relentless yet controlled, with power delivered cleanly across the rev range. Top speed is capped at 240 km/h, because tyres, physics and common sense still exist… just. Soundtrack duties are handled by a BRABUS ROCKET stainless-steel exhaust, exiting ahead of the rear wheels. Valve-controlled modes let you choose between stealth wealth or full V8 thunder, framed by carbon surrounds and red launch ambience lighting. Because drama matters.
The ROCKET EDITION rolls on 24-inch BRABUS Monoblock II EVO “Platinum Edition” wheels, a modern evolution of the iconic three-spoke design from the brand’s 1980s heroes. With carbon fibre Aero Blades reducing turbulence in the wheel arches, these wheels are as functional as they are intimidating. Step inside, and the madness becomes meticulous. The BRABUS Masterpiece interior is entirely handcrafted in black leather, with perforated surfaces for climate control and Dinamica microfiber adding contrast across seats and headliner. The signature “Shell” quilting covers seats, doors and floors, offset by red stitching, piping and a red-glazed finish across cockpit controls and vents. Carbon fibre dominates the dashboard, centre console and doors, joined by carbon pedals, a carbon steering wheel and exposed-carbon shift paddles. Integrated LED indicators track engine speed in real time, glowing green to yellow to red as the optimal shift point approaches. It’s theatrical. It’s ridiculous. It’s perfect. Illuminated carbon entry panels, 90-degree Easy-Entry door hinges, and bespoke accessories, including a handcrafted BRABUS key cover and Weekender bag, round off the experience.
