BENTLEY PRAGUE HONOURS CZECH AIRMEN WITH THE BREATHTAKING MULLINER CZECH SQUADRON COLLECTION
There’s luxury, there’s craftsmanship - and then there’s meaning. Bentley Prague has just unveiled its first-ever Mulliner collection, and it’s one steeped in both beauty and bravery. Called the Czech Squadron Collection, this quartet of hand-built machines pays tribute to the Czech airmen who once flew with the Royal Air Force during World War II - men who fought for freedom in the skies while exiled from their homeland. Created with the full blessing of the British Ministry of Defence, this remarkable Mulliner project sees four unique Bentleys - a Continental GT, GT Convertible, Flying Spur, and Bentayga - each carrying the colours, insignia, and mottos of one of the legendary Czech RAF squadrons: 310, 311, 312, and 313. Every surface, stitch, and laser-etched detail serves as a tribute to history, blending British engineering with Czech courage in a way only Mulliner could. Each car tells its own story through colour, texture, and symbolism. Bentley’s artisans used aircraft-inspired shades, heritage insignia, and period-correct materials to capture the spirit of the RAF machines that once filled the skies above Crewe - the same site where those legendary Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines were built during wartime.
The Bentley Rotating Display in each car features custom bezels in St James’ Red, Beluga, and Signal Yellow, colours pulled straight from the squadrons’ insignia and livery. Laser-etched headrests display squadron crests, while bespoke treadplates showcase each squadron’s aircraft silhouette and motto - a blend of art, history, and precision engineering.
“The Czech Squadron Collection is the first Mulliner edition commissioned by Bentley Prague, and we chose a theme that was close to our hearts,” said Jiří Halousek, Sales Manager at Bentley Prague. “The craftsmanship and attention to detail of the Mulliner team is everything we could have hoped for – and more.”
Commissioned to mark the opening of Bentley Prague’s new showroom, the Czech Squadron Collection stands as a rolling reminder of the enduring bond between Czechia and the UK - two nations forever linked through courage and craftsmanship.
The Collection
Continental GT Convertible - Squadron 310 “We fight to rebuild”
One of the first Czech-manned RAF squadrons, No. 310, flew Hawker Hurricanes and later Supermarine Spitfires, both powered by the Crewe-built Merlin V12.
Their modern tribute wears Thunder, a steely blue recalling the Spitfire’s camouflage, complemented by Blackline trim, 22-inch Thunder and Grey wheels, and a Czech Squadron Collection badge. Inside, Cognac and Imperial Blue hides meet herringbone charcoal tweed, echoing flight jackets and cockpit materials of the era. The engine-turned aluminium fascia and laser-etched insignia elevate the cabin from refined to reverent.
Bentayga - Squadron 311 “Never regard their numbers”
The only Czech-manned bomber squadron in the RAF, No. 311, flew Wellingtons and later B-24 Liberators on long, perilous missions. Its tribute comes in Cypress Green, wearing black wheels and Blackline trim with quiet confidence. Inside, Autumn and Cumbrian Green hide set a stately tone, accented by dark-tinted brushed aluminium veneers that channel the cockpit’s utilitarian focus. Treadplates carry silhouettes of both aircraft and the squadron’s unflinching motto - a subtle nod to bravery under fire.
Continental GT - Squadron 312 “Not many, but much”
A fighter squadron famed for skill over numbers, No. 312 flew both Hurricanes and Spitfires. Their car is pure understated aggression - finished in solid Barnato Green, with Blackline trim, and 22-inch ten-spoke wheels to mirror the purposeful stance of a fighter at rest. The cabin combines Beluga and Anthracite leather with Fern Green accents and dark engine-turned aluminium - technical, focused, and pure Mulliner theatre.
Flying Spur - Squadron 313 “One hawk chases many crows”
Formed from pilots who escaped occupied Europe, Squadron 313 carried hope into every sortie. Their modern tribute is the collection’s flagship - a Flying Spur dressed in a two-tone Cypress and Anthracite finish, balanced by 22-inch Cypress and Grey wheels. Inside, it’s classic British restraint with a Czech soul: Gondola Green and Gravity Grey hides, open-pore black stained Crown Cut Walnut, and a four-seat layout divided by a full-length console. Laser-etched headrests and bespoke treadplates immortalise the squadron’s crest and its relentless motto.
The factory at Pyms Lane, Crewe, opened in 1938 to build the legendary 27-litre Rolls-Royce Merlin V12, the heart of the Spitfire and Hurricane. After the war, peace returned - and in 1946, the first car to leave Crewe was a Bentley Mk VI.
