BMW M3 VS TESLA MODEL 3 VS AUDI RS5 - DRAG RACE!
Check out this obscured drag race between the king of the 3 Series, the BMW M3, the entry-level Tesla, the Tesla Model 3 Performance and the classy Audi RS5!
The guys over at Carwow have caught our attention with yet another drag race video they recently filmed and published that included a BMW M3 AWD Competition, a Tesla Model 3 Performance and an Audi RS5. This would not normally be of any interest unless you stay awake at night wondering whether or not the new BMW M3, although heavier than the new Audi RS5 but more powerful, would actually win at a drag race in the real world. But what makes this interesting, however, is the fact that they threw in an entry-level Tesla into the mix, the Tesla Model 3, but not any Model 3 though, this one is the Tesla Model 3 Performance. But the Tesla Model 3, although it is indeed the Performance edition, it is still the cheapest out of the lot, but in a drag race what will the outcome be?
Well, let us have a look at the nerdy specs first...
The BMW M3 AWD Competition features a 3.0-litre straight-six twin-turbo that spits out 510 HP and 650 Nm of torque and weighs in at 1,780 KG (Heavier than the standard rear-wheel drive variant for obvious reasons!).
The Tesla Model 3 Performance on the other hand has a 75 kWh battery and dual motors and makes 460 HP and 640 Nm of torque and weighs in at a heavier 1,850 KG.
Lastly, we have the Audi RS5 which features a 2.9-litre V6 engine that produces 450 HP and 600 Nm of torque but, to its credit, it is the lightest out of the lot at 1,740 KG!
