BRABUS 700: THE WORLD’S MOST EXCESSIVE ROLLS-ROYCE CULLINAN - AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING.

If there’s one SUV that already needs no introduction in the world of ultra-luxury, it’s the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Named after the largest diamond ever discovered in Cullinan in South Africa, the Cullinan has, since its 2018 launch, stood as the ultimate interpretation of what an SUV can be: opulence on wheels, engineering refinement, and presence that borders on regal intimidation. Now in its Series II update, the Cullinan’s appeal is broad - if you’re in the target market.  But if you thought the Cullinan couldn’t possibly get any more dramatic, you haven’t met the mad scientists at BRABUS. The German tuning house, famous for turning already-unhinged AMG models into 800 hp monsters, has set its sights on the updated Rolls. The result? The BRABUS 700 Cullinan Series II - a wide-bodied, carbon-laced, 700-horsepower super-SUV that blends old-school Rolls refinement with BRABUS’s signature outrageousness. Before diving into BRABUS’s excess, it’s worth appreciating what Rolls-Royce has achieved with the Series II. Externally, it’s a more assertive take on the Cullinan’s imposing shape, with a bolder grille, sharper lighting, and optional 23-inch wheels that fill the arches in true SUV couture style. Inside, the focus is on blending luxury with digital innovation. For the first time in Rolls-Royce history, a full-width digital dashboard spans the cockpit, incorporating the driver’s display and infotainment in one seamless sweep of glass. The system is powered by the brand’s SPIRIT interface, connected to the Whispers app that lets owners manage their car and lifestyle services in unison.

The materials, naturally, are exquisite. A new Duality Twill textile, woven from bamboo fibres, sets a sustainable but supremely luxurious tone, while Grey Stained Ash wood trim adds contemporary elegance. Rear passengers can enjoy all the usual Cullinan indulgences: automatic tray tables, a champagne chiller, and screens with independent connectivity. In a typically Rolls twist, the entire aluminium body doubles as a resonance chamber for the 1,400-watt, 18-channel audio system - meaning the car itself is the subwoofer. Under the bonnet sits Rolls’s iconic 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12, unchanged but still effortlessly potent. With 420 kW (563 hp) and 850 Nm on tap, it delivers the trademark “Magic Carpet Ride”: serenity at speed, whether rolling through city boulevards or devouring mountain passes.

Enter BRABUS. That calmness is where BRABUS comes in - because serenity is not exactly in their vocabulary. Founded in 1977, the Bottrop-based company has built a reputation as the world’s most outrageous tuner of luxury and performance cars. Their calling card is excess: more power, wider bodies, quilted leather interiors that resemble five-star hotel lobbies, and carbon fibre everything. With the Cullinan Series II, BRABUS applied their WIDESTAR treatment - and suddenly Rolls’s most stately SUV looks ready for battle.

The BRABUS 700 wears its aggression openly. High-gloss visible carbon elements replace traditional chrome: wide fender flares, a new front apron with massive intakes, and a diffuser-like rear section. Even the SUV’s paintwork is coordinated, with BRABUS showing the car in a custom “Cascade Grey” scheme that integrates seamlessly with the exposed carbon weave. A set of 24-inch BRABUS Monoblock M Platinum Edition wheels sit beneath those pumped arches, painted to match the body and wrapped in performance rubber. The SUV rides 25 mm lower thanks to the BRABUS SportXtra suspension module, giving it a planted stance without losing too much of Rolls’s comfort. The result is a Cullinan that looks less like it belongs outside a Mayfair hotel and more like it should be pulling up to Monaco’s Formula 1 paddock.

Under the hood, BRABUS has unleashed the full potential of Rolls’s V12. Through a careful remap and hardware upgrades, the twin-turbo 6.75-litre now makes 515 kW (700 hp) and a colossal 950 Nm of torque. This behemoth can rocket from 0–100 km/h in 5.0 seconds flat - extraordinary considering its size and luxury weight. Top speed remains electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), but it’s the effortless surge that will impress owners: every flex of the throttle delivers a monumental shove, accompanied by a deeper, angrier soundtrack than Rolls engineers ever intended. If the outside screams menace, the cabin is pure BRABUS decadence. The interior is wrapped in “Verdant Shadow” leather, stitched with BRABUS’s Shell quilting across the seats, door panels, floors, and even the boot lining. Every panel is finished with meticulous craftsmanship, reflecting the brand’s obsession with detail. Carbon fibre inserts - glossy, of course - adorn the steering wheel, centre console, and door cards, contrasting with aluminium pedals and illuminated BRABUS logos on the door sills. The aim is clear: preserve Rolls-Royce comfort while dialling up the sportiness and exclusivity.
