BUGATTI UNLEASHED A FLEET OF HYPERCARS - OLD AND NEW - ON ST. MORITZ'S ICE TRACKS. WAY TOO COOL!
High in the Engadine Alps, where winter turns the landscape into something almost unreal, St. Moritz becomes a stage, and for two extraordinary days, it’s frozen solid with enough strength to support fleets of cars from around the world. The I.C.E. St. Moritz returns is one of the world’s most evocative automotive events, drawing more than 20,000 enthusiasts from across the globe. Against a backdrop of alpine peaks and pearlescent snow, Bugatti arrived not merely to display cars, but to shred the tracks and show that hypercars and classics are way more than showpieces. At the heart of the Bugatti spectacle stood a tribute to the machine that redefined modern performance. Three Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse legends took to the ice, each a rolling chapter from Bugatti’s rebirth. The ‘Soleil de Nuit’, the ‘Rembrandt Bugatti’ and the ‘Meo Costantini’, all from the revered Les Légendes de Bugatti collection, made for some truly epic photography. Especially the part where professional ice skaters glided between the cars.
Honouring Bugatti’s past took another beautifully considered form with the debut of the Bugatti Baby II ‘Meo Costantini’ by Hedley Studios. A scaled, one-of-one tribute to the legendary Type 35, it stood alongside its Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse namesake. Together, they formed a bridge between eras, showcasing Bugatti’s unmistakable design language and the depth of customisation that defines the marque. If the Veyrons paid homage to history, the next act was pure present tense. Out on the iced circuit, the Bugatti Bolide delivered a demonstration that bordered on the surreal. Three track-only hypercars, each owned by Bugatti clients, were unleashed onto the frozen surface, exploring the outer limits of W16 performance in conditions that defy logic.
On ice and snow, the Bolide became a study in controlled extremity. Mechanical grip, aerodynamic force and driver commitment converged in a spectacle that only Bugatti could orchestrate. A hypercar experience without precedent.
Bugatti’s heritage also shone within the Concours d’Elegance itself. Historic icons, including the Type 13, Type 35 and Type 37A graced the ‘Open Wheels’ class, while the legendary EB110 stood apart in the ‘Birth of the Hypercar’ category. Each car, in its own distinct way, drew crowds and admiration on the winter stage. Beyond the frozen lake, the I.C.E. Village offered a different kind of immersion. Along the lakebank, Bugatti welcomed clients and guests into an atmosphere of refined chalet-chic elegance, celebrating community, craftsmanship and shared passion. It was a space to reflect, connect and raise a glass to the spirit that has defined Bugatti for over a century. If you make six figures a week, you’d have felt right at home.
Hendrik Malinowski, Managing Director of Bugatti, captured the sentiment perfectly. “Embracing the magic of winter in such a spectacular setting is always to be enjoyed, but it is honouring the majesty of Bugatti vehicles, historic and present, that makes this extraordinary gathering so special for us. From the unprecedented Bolide showcase on the ice to the elegant Veyron homage with graceful ice skaters, it all comes together to showcase the passion and pioneering spirit that fuels us, creating memories that last a lifetime.”
