MORGAN X BMW - SILVER-BAVARIAN MUSCLE, WRAPPED IN ENGLISH ASH WITH A QUARTER CENTURY COLAB

Morgan is marking a quietly monumental milestone: 25 years of partnership with BMW, a relationship that has helped shape the company’s modern era without sanding away its wonderfully old-school soul. Since the debut of the Aero 8 in 2000, BMW engines have become the heartbeat beneath Morgan’s hand-formed aluminium and ash frames, blending contemporary performance with craftsmanship that still smells faintly of sawdust and tradition. From naturally aspirated V8s to today’s turbocharged inline-six and four-cylinder units, BMW power has underpinned everything from the Aero 8 and Plus 8 to the latest Supersport, proving that modern engineering and heritage coachbuilding can coexist beautifully. To celebrate, Morgan has assembled 14 landmark BMW-powered cars in a single display, tracing a quarter-century of shared ambition, evolution, and mutual trust.

That evolution has been anything but static. Early BMW V8s like the M62 and N62 gave Morgan muscle and character, culminating in the final Plus 8 models before the curtain closed on the company’s 50-year V8 lineage. The real leap forward came in 2019 with BMW’s 3.0-litre B58 inline-six, which ushered Morgan into turbocharged territory for the first time and coincided with the arrival of the in-house developed CX aluminium platform. Lighter, vastly stiffer, and more refined, CX allowed Morgan to step confidently into modern performance while keeping its timeless proportions intact. The B58 now powers everything from the Plus Six to the stunning Midsummer barchetta, a Pininfarina-penned celebration of coachbuilding artistry and open-air immersion, while the understated B48 four-cylinder continues the Plus Four’s long tradition of relaxed, characterful motoring.
Today, BMW power is exclusive across Morgan’s four-wheeled range, with the new Supersport leading the charge as the brand’s most dynamically capable car yet. Riding on the evolved CXV platform and driven by the ever-compelling B58, it represents a new design language for Morgan - fresh, purposeful, and unmistakably familiar. The partnership has also enabled Morgan’s return to the US market, with BMW working closely to certify compliant powertrains under modern regulations. After 25 years and nearly 5,000 engines supplied, this isn’t a supplier relationship - it’s a shared philosophy. Handcrafted individuality on one side, precision-engineered performance on the other, united by a simple goal: keeping the joy of driving gloriously, stubbornly alive.
