THAT TIME TOP GEAR RACED A F35 FIGHTER JET WITH A MCLAREN SPEEDTAIL
Recapping what Top Gear did when they raced a £2,000,000 McLaren Speedtail against the worlds most sophisticated fighter aircraft, the £100,000,000 F35 fighter jet!
Top Gear made a name for itself with their rather "out there" stunts and humour and even after the original trip with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May left the show, their legacy continued and trickled down into what the new Top Gear is like today.
One of the most impressive races hosted by the BBC's Top Gear was indeed the time they raced an F35 Fighter Jet against a McLaren Speedtail with Chris Harris at the wheel. This was no ordinary drag race like what was done in the past with a Bugatti Veyron, but rather a section of 3 overlapping runways that catered for 3 corners making this pretty much a circuit race!
