VIDEO: THE KIRAVAN IS PROBABLY THE MOST INSANE TRUCK EVER!!
The KiraVan is like a swiss army knife on wheels and is meant to be the ultimate exploration vehicle. A side project for the designer 61-year old Bran Ferren, who named the van after his daughter Kira, the KiraVan also acts as a test bed for travel tech and vehicle engineering.
The KiraVan is a custom off-road truck that is capable of travelling almost anywhere in the world, with the incredible interior that boasts everything from a fully stocked office, kitchen, bedroom and a popup tent on the roof for Kira.
The truck itself has 260 horsepower, 700ft-lb of torque and a 30-degree side-to-side articulating fifth wheel trailer hitch, the world's only 6x6 wheel drive tractor. Occupants can work, play, sleep and eat for up to three weeks at a time inside the KiraVan and can travel up to 2,000 miles without having to resupply and can navigate slopes as steep as 45 degrees thanks to a special suspension system.
The cockpit has a special vibration reducing chair, as well as control of drones that can fly ahead to check traffic. Even though the truck itself is impressive, the trailer is even more so, at 31 feet long and 10 feet high, it is better equipped than most homes. It has an eco-friendly bathroom, a custom-designed kitchen where meals can be prepared along with storage space for two weeks of travelling.
