Subaru's second shot at laying down a sub-seven-minute lap at Nurburgring was more successful than its first – and here is the footage from inside the car!

During the second trip to Nurburgring, Subaru's hired hand Richie Stanaway shot his heavily reworked WRX STI around The Green Hell in just 6 minutes, 57 seconds – a new record!

This inside footage gives us the essential info: speed and G-force – that's what you want to see when someone is hurling a 600 hp Subaru around a track.

In its first attempt around the 'Ring, the story is basically this: it rained. The downpour made it impossible any semblance of a fast lap for the Type RA NBR (what Subaru calls a race car).
