The supercharged 2015 Kawasaki H2R had the internet abuzz as soon as its first teaser surfaced last year. Not to be confused with the street-legal H2, the race-only H2R features some insane specs: $50,000 price tag, ultra-limited production, 998cc, liquid-cooled supercharged inline-four engine, claimed 300hp and 215kg curb weight, all contributing to the world's fastest production hyperbike ever. 

A race was set up recently in collaboration with Super Street Magazine, Sport Rider Magazine and Omega Motorsport. The location was Minter Airfield in Shafter, California. The competitors had some real good specs. A million-dollar Bugatti Veyron with a 1200hp Super Sport Tune, 1350hp SP Engineering R35 Nissan GT-R, and a McLaren MP4-12C. 

For the runs, each car would get three chances with a 50mph roll-on into a half-mile run. A radar system at the finish line logged the trap speed, because we all know Speedos are never 100% accurate. 

The first race was between the McLaren MP4-12C and the Kawasaki H2R with the H2R hitting the traps at 192mph and the MP4-12C reaching 162mph. In a nutshell, the H2R destroyed it. Next up was the 1200hp Bugatti Veyron vs the H2R and here again the H2R dominated, even with it having a slow pull off, but it caught up with and passed the Veyron with ease, reaching 194.5mph with the Veyron only getting up to 180mph. The last match up was the H2R against a highly modified 1350hp Nissan R35 GTR and this is the only car that managed to oust the H2R hitting 208mph while the H2R reached 204mph, but as we all know a tuned GTR is the king of straight line speed.

Godzilla rules in the end, but what a fight from the Kawasaki H2R. Definitely a bike to look out for and to be very scared of.
