THE NEW BENTLEY BATUR CONVERTIBLE IS POSSIBLY THE MOST AMAZING MODERN COACHBUILT CAR FROM MULLINER.

Bentley Motors is one of those brands that exudes luxury and opulence, over the course of many years, the company has cemented itself as being able to build the best of the best cars. Any series production Bentley you come across is just about perfect, every single facet of one is tailored to surround the occupants with the absolute best in materials and components that are a level above the rest. It doesn’t end there though, the company also has a division whose sole existence is to create bespoke Bentley models - Mulliner Coachworks. As is the norm with cars of this calibre, owners like to stand out from the crowd to show off their individuality and the size of their bank account, and Mulliner is there to add in custom paintwork, custom interior trimmings and a whole host of highly-detailed accents and details. The coachbuilding from Mulliner is arguably the best in the world, and if you want to see what the company is truly capable of, you need to check out their complete coachbuilt projects, which is easy because they’re few and far between. What you see here is the new Bentley Batur Convertible and the whole car is the ultimate expression of curated personalisation and individualism, it is only the third Bentley of the modern era that has been created this way. The Batur Convertible follows on from the sold-out 2-door Bacalar Barchetta and Batur Coupe. As expected, the open-top Batur will be limited in numbers, there will be just 16 examples created, and as is usually the case, they’ll probably all be spoken for by the time you read this. The types of people who can afford these special cars don’t wait around, happy to pay whatever premium there is to make sure they secure a car, no matter if there’s a 2-year waiting list.

Under the hood of the bespoke Batur Convertible is Bentley’s iconic W12 engine, a hand-assembled 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged powerhouse that delivers an impressive 552 kW of power. This is the same engine that has been the driving force behind Bentley's success for the past two decades, making the Batur Convertible one of the final vehicles to embrace this legendary powertrain. Drawing inspiration from Bentley's rich history of open-cockpit cars, the Batur Convertible pays homage to its predecessors while embracing modern design elements, Mulliner’s designers have crafted a masterpiece that seamlessly blends the elegance of the Bacalar with the functionality of a convertible. The 'wraparound' cockpit and distinctive 'airbridge' behind the seats evoke a sense of nostalgia for classic sports cars while ensuring a dynamic, driver-focused adventure. The convertible roof of the Batur adds a touch of modernity, seamlessly transitioning from coupe to open-top grand tourer in just 19 seconds, even while cruising at speeds of up to 50 km/h. Inside, Mulliner's in-house design team doesn’t just do what it wants, the company collaborates with customers to create personalised masterpieces while offering endless customisation options for every surface of the vehicle. From paint choices to exterior brightware and cabin accents, every detail can be tailored to reflect the individuality of its owner. Unique materials, including 3D-printed rose gold, add a touch of luxury to the cabin, highlighting Bentley's commitment to craftsmanship and innovation - all handcrafted with precision at Bentley's carbon-neutral factory in Crewe, England. The Batur Convertible has great performance too thanks to a revised intake system, upgraded turbochargers, and a sports exhaust system crafted entirely in titanium, the grand tourer delivers heaps of power and an unforgettable driving experience. The exterior of the Batur Convertible is also a work of art, featuring bespoke paintwork, carbon fibre accents, and a grille that exudes sophistication. From its sleek lines to its vibrant colour palette - you can have one in any colour you can think of, every aspect of this vehicle reflects Bentley's commitment to luxury, innovation and exclusivity.
