ALPINE A390: FROM RALLY ROOTS TO ELECTRIC REVOLT

Alpine might share showroom space and engineering with Renault, but don’t for a second think it’s just another badge job. Born in 1955 at the hands of rally racer and Renault dealer Jean Rédélé, Alpine quickly earned its stripes carving through the curves of the Alps with featherweight precision and driver-focused brilliance. The brand hit legendary status in the ’60s with the original A110 - a nimble, rear-engined coupe that dominated European rally stages and went on to become a cult classic. Fast-forward to 2017 and Alpine returned with a bang, reviving the A110 in modern form - still true to its featherweight, pure-driver formula. That car didn’t just make headlines, it earned respect on global stages like the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the brutal Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Now, Alpine is taking a bold leap into electrification with a car that blends its motorsport DNA with futuristic tech and everyday usability. Meet the Alpine A390 - a five-seat electric sport fastback that’s gunning for EV heavyweights like the Porsche Macan Electric and the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N. The A390 isn’t a crossover with a fancy badge. It’s a proper performance machine with a full dose of Alpine attitude. Two variants will be on offer: the GT with 395 hp, and the GTS pumping out a meaty 470 hp and 808 Nm of torque. With three electric motors and Alpine’s active torque vectoring system, this fastback delivers 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, all while keeping things planted with all-wheel drive grip. Power is drawn from an 89 kWh battery, offering up to 345 miles (WLTP) of range and 190 kW DC fast charging capability - meaning you’re back on the road while others are still ordering coffee at the charger lounge.

Alpine didn’t just pack in performance and call it a day. The A390 has been shaped with elegance and purpose, inspired by motorsport and French savoir-faire. Up front, an F1®-style front wing adds aggression and aerodynamic efficiency, while the rear silhouette balances athleticism and style. Inside, it’s a proper driver’s cockpit. Think squared-off steering wheel, Sabelt sports seats wrapped in Nappa leather (GTS spec), and a Google-powered infotainment system that leans toward the driver. There’s even a bespoke Alpine Telemetrics system that acts like a digital co-driver, offering coaching, real-time data, and even a Track Mode with an Overtake Button. Yes, an actual overtake button. Très bon. Built in Dieppe - the spiritual home of Alpine - the A390 is more than fast, it’s also tuned for the senses. A partnership with Devialet brings high-fidelity audio that aims to stir emotion even when the motors are silent. As part of the A390 Premiere experience, early adopters get a special edition gift box, including limited Alpine x Devialet earbuds that preview the vehicle’s acoustic profile. Add to that exclusive colourways, custom floor mats, and a numbered emblem, and you’ve got collector-grade flair straight out of the box. As Alpine pivots to an all-electric future, the A390 marks a turning point. It channels the heart and soul of the A110 and brings it into a radically new format - a proper family-friendly EV that’s just as happy hitting apexes as it is grabbing groceries.

Philippe Krief, Alpine CEO, sums it up: "The A390 shows how to reinvent the spirit of the A110 in a 5-seat sport fastback. It’s the quintessential Alpine - combining sportiness and performance with technology and refinement, all for a unique driving experience."
