ASTON MARTIN CELEBRATES SIX DECADES OF VOLANTE WITH AMAZING BESPOKE Q ANNIVERSARY EDITIONS

Few names in the Aston Martin world carry as much weight as Volante. It’s been six decades since the British marque first slapped that name on a convertible grand tourer back in 1965, and to celebrate, the in-house wizards at Q by Aston Martin have created something truly special. Two things, actually - the Vanquish Volante and DB12 Volante, both treated to a 60th Anniversary makeover that blends brute force, elegance, and exquisite detail. At the top of the tree is the Vanquish Volante, Aston’s new open-top flagship and, quite simply, the fastest and most powerful convertible the brand has ever built. A 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 belts out a colossal 614 kW and 1000 Nm, firing this sculpture-on-wheels from 0–100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and on to 344 km/h. This is Aston Martin showing it still knows how to build a drop-top that’s both devastatingly quick and devastatingly beautiful.

Sitting alongside it is the DB12 Volante, a more versatile but no less impressive take on the modern super GT. Powered by a hand-built 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 500 kW and 800 Nm, it delivers pace (0–100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, 325 km/h top speed) with enough refinement to make roof-down cross-continental blasts feel effortless. It’s the open-top that can play daily driver, grand tourer, and track toy all in one. Both cars wear Q by Aston Martin’s 60th Anniversary specification, and that means obsessive detail. Finished in deep Pentland Green with a Westminster Green hood, they stand apart with bronze accents - from the reimagined vaned grille to the milled aluminium side strakes and even the 21-inch satin bronze wheels. Subtle yet bold, it’s a theme that ties in Aston Martin’s rich heritage with Q’s flair for modern craftsmanship.

Step inside, and the anniversary touches continue. Tri-tone leather in Saddle Tan, Ivory and Woven meets Dark Walnut veneers, with bronze highlights and bespoke embroidery marking the milestone. Every stitch, every surface, feels designed to remind the driver they’re sitting in something rare and significant. The roof, of course, is Aston cleverness at its best. A lightweight K-fold design allows for clean packaging, more boot space, and smooth operation - 14 seconds to drop, 16 to raise, and all while rolling at speeds up to 50 km/h. The Volante story began with the ultra-rare Short Chassis Volante of 1965, of which only 37 were built. Since then, the name has graced generations of Aston convertibles, always standing for freedom, performance, and elegance with the wind in your hair. This 60th Anniversary pairing takes that heritage and pushes it into Aston Martin’s next era. Only 60 examples of each model will be produced, with deliveries set to begin in Q4 2025. And because this is Q by Aston Martin, the sky’s the limit on personalisation. Want a different leather hue, a one-off veneer, or something entirely out there? If you can dream it, Q can make it.

As Aston’s Chief Commercial Officer, Jolyon Nash, puts it: “Volante is one of Aston Martin’s most evocative names, representing six decades of the ultimate open-top driving experience. With these editions, we’ve created a truly exclusive celebration of that legacy - bringing together the raw power of Vanquish Volante and the refined versatility of DB12 Volante in a way that speaks directly to our most discerning customers.”
