THE SUPER SEXY ASTON MARTIN DBS 770 ULTIMATE - NOW IN VOLANTE SPEC.

Earlier this year we brought you the first news of the amazing new Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate, a British creation that has it all, looks, power, style, features and more looks - it’s a beaut in every way. It was dubbed as the most powerful Aston Martin DBS to date. The car was a regular hard top, but in true supercar automaker style, Aston Martin carried out a few awesome revisions over the last few months and the result is the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate Volante. This version was treated to a comprehensive suite of enhancements to its transmission, steering, suspension, and underbody structure. Oh, and they removed the roof. The results are just amazing! Not all cars look good in open-top and hard-top guise, but the DBS 770 Ultimate Volante works, and it works very, very well. According to Roberto Fedeli, the Chief Technical Officer of Aston Martin, this vehicle produces a spectacular level of performance and delivers one of the greatest sensory experiences when driving an open-top Super GT. The exterior of the DBS 770 Ultimate Volante is carved like a stallion if the presser is to be believed, there’s a racer's nose, iconic horseshoe bonnet, and snarling front splitter. The lowered flanks feature carbon fibre side sills, and the retracted roof gives you a clear and breezy view of the outside world while you’re cruising and showing people that you have more zeros on your bank statement than most people.

The powerplant of the DBS 770 Ultimate Volante is the same one seen in the tin-top version, and that means it has a monster of a setup with a twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 rated with a rather impressive 566 kW of power and a very healthy 900 Nm of torque, which, when mated to the 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, allows the vehicle to launch from 0-100 km/h in around 3.4 seconds. It can hit 160 km/h in 6.4 seconds and run on to a 400 km/h top speed. Yes, 400 km/h, which is pretty damn mad, we double-checked the press release because we figured that even 300 km/h was good, but no, the claims are 400 km/h and so we’re patiently awaiting actual real-world testing of the car. “DBS has always sat at the pinnacle of the Aston Martin production model line-up. And now we’re infusing DBS 770 Ultimate Volante with even more… more power, more tech, more performance purity. All with more sophistication, more taste and in the most considered manner. Something so raw, and so beautiful it’s almost intimidating to look at. It's through this design approach that we came up with the shapes - starting with the amped-up front end – and from there everything else flows in design balance with the performance upgrades.” Marek Reichman - EVP and Chief Creative Officer.

Take a look at the YouTube video that is admittedly of the normal hard-top version, one of the two teaser videos created to showcase this amazing new Aston Martin, so while you're watching, just imagine the car has no roof and a driver that looks like a supermodel: A storm is coming | Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate | Aston Martin
