ASTON MARTIN UNLEASHES THE DBX S – THE ULTIMATE SUPER-SUV WITH VALHALLA DNA

Hold onto your roof rails - actually, scratch that, this beast doesn’t have 'em. Aston Martin has just dropped its most ferocious DBX yet, and it’s called the DBX S. Building on the DBX707’s ballistic performance and borrowing tech straight from the upcoming Valhalla hypercar, the DBX S is lighter, louder, sharper, and utterly unapologetic. This isn't just an "S" badge for show. Aston Martin’s long-running ‘S’ suffix tradition continues here with real muscle behind the name. Under the hood lies a heavily upgraded twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, now making a monstrous 535 kW, thanks to Valhalla-derived turbo tech with beefed-up compressor wheels and internal wizardry. Pair that with a reworked exhaust that’s basically a rolling opera house of V8 thunder, and the DBX S rockets from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, shaving time off the dash to 200 km/h as well. Top speed is still a license-shattering 310 km/h. Power is put down via a silky-smooth 9-speed ‘wet clutch’ gearbox, ditching the old-school torque converter for something more savage. It launches hard, shifts faster, and even tweaks gear changes based on rev range and driving mode. In Sport and Sport+, it downshifts like it’s picking a fight - precise, loud, and satisfying. This isn't your average 'strip it bare' approach to cutting weight. Aston’s engineers went surgical. Tick the optional carbon fibre roof, and you ditch 18 kg from the car’s highest point - lowering the centre of gravity and boosting agility. It’s also the largest carbon roof ever fitted to an Aston Martin, finished in glorious single-weave carbon. For the first time ever in the SUV world, magnesium wheels are on offer. These ultra-light 23-inch rims drop a massive 19 kg of unsprung mass, transforming ride feel, steering feedback, and response. You can spec 23-inch forged aluminium wheels as standard if you’re on a “budget”. An optional polycarbonate honeycomb grille made up of over 25,000 facets cuts more weight and improves aero. It’s all about smart performance, not just numbers on a spec sheet.

The DBX S comes packing Aston’s upgraded adaptive air suspension and electronic dampers, keeping things flat and planted no matter how hard you push. With electronic roll control, the DBX S barely leans - even when you’re carving corners like you’re in a two-seater sports car. It can handle up to 1.5 degrees of roll, just enough to keep things natural without compromising grip or poise. Massive carbon ceramic brakes - 420 mm up front and 390 mm at the rear - anchor this beast with organ-squishing stopping power. You won’t mistake the DBX S for anything else. Up front, a pure black vaned grille brings menace, while the optional polycarbonate honeycomb grille borrows its design from the DBS 770 Ultimate. A new front splitter and diffuser sharpen its stance, backed up by wraparound DRLs that scream Aston Martin DNA. From the side, red ‘S’ badging, carbon fibre accents, and aggressive upturned side splitters serve both form and function - channeling airflow while looking damn good doing it. Out back are vertically stacked quad exhausts, available in gloss or matte finish, delivering full-throttle V8 fury. A redesigned bumper and diffuser (optional in carbon) chops off another 7 kg, while a new lower livery in Rosso Corsa Red, Trophy Silver, or Podium Green ties the whole look together. Step inside and you’ll find the bespoke ‘S’ herringbone seat design widens upward, giving the impression of speed and motion. Opt for the carbon roof, and the pattern continues onto the headliner for full visual drama. You also get Aston’s latest in-house infotainment system, offering premium tech without ditching handcrafted luxury. The standard 800W, 14-speaker Aston Martin Premium Audio system makes sure the cabin bangs. It would be cool to see if any of these make it to our shores, which they may, seeing as we’ve spotted the regular DBX before.
