Three famous YouTubers were challenged to find three cheap exotic cars for less than the price of a new Chevrolet Corvette C8. This is Car Trek, and it's a blast.
We have met all these characters before. Freddy 'Tavarish' Hernandes, Tyler Hoover and Ed Bolian have been on YouTube for years and are legends in their own right. They've come together for this show, called Car Trek, and have been challenged by AutoTempest.com to each purchase an exotic car for less than the new Chevrolet Corvette C8.
In this, the first episode, Tyler arrived in a pimped-out Ferrari 360, Ed purchased a Lamborghini Gallardo and Tavarish bought himself an Aston Martin V12 Vantage S. Technically, the Vantage was overbudget because Tavarish decided that nobody buys the base model Corvette, which is a great excuse.
The Ferrari, on the other hand, was a few grand cheaper than the base model Corvette, even with its extra flair, but the Lamborghini was a surprise, hitting the budget squarely on the head. Usually, these Gallardo's are way more expensive, but Ed managed to find one that had been submerged in water at some point, hence the discount.
The first thing they decide to do is put the pedal to the metal and hit the streets of central Florida. So far so good... well... until the Lambo rolls to a standstill. It turns out the fuel gauge doesn't work and he's out of petrol.
Then it's time for their second test. With a text received from the AutoTempest gods, the boys are sent to a mechanic who specialises in exotics to get their cars assessed. A pass is given to a car that receives a quote of under $5,000, and anything over is a fail. The results are quite a shocker!
The third test – also received via text, is that the guys all need to go immediately to their workshop and fix at least one item each on their list of faulty parts on their respective parts. We'll have to wait for episode 2 to find out how that goes, but, in the meantime, sit back and enjoy the first episode of Car Trek.
