HOW DO FORMULA 1 DRIVERS DRINK DURING A RACE?
So Formula 1 is just a bunch of overpaid teenagers travelling the world and driving around in a circle for a few hours every odd Sunday? Well, not exactly. Formula 1 drivers are amongst the fittest athletes in sport and have to train their bodies to be subjected to up to 6 times their body weight when cornering which really puts its toll on you physically. Not to mention the extreme heat they experience as they have to wear fully protected gear and although it is designed to be as cool as possible, there is hardly any airflow through the driver's position as a result of reducing drag in aerodynamic engineering.
So the drivers need to hydrate during a race, and yes, this is not just in case they fancy a sip here and there, they honestly have to or else risk their lives by not hydrating enough and still trying to control a car travelling at over 200 miles per hour!
