David Hosie wanted to tackle the fact that, to own a modern-day supercar that you could smash around the track and live out your childhood racer dreams, you have to be quite rich...
So, David founded a small and relatively new auto company called Ruch Auto Works, based in Houston Texas. This is where his team develops pure track cars, designed to be high performers, and only cost a fraction of what conventional supercars do.
Their current model is the Ruch SR Race Car. It features a tiny aerodynamic body and ultra-lightweight chassis, and it's fitted with, what appears to be, a really conservative 1-litre engine. But don't be fooled, it's from a Suzuki GSXR superbike that produces 145 horsepower! Also, this entire car weighs in at just 424kg, that's half a Miata... which gives it a mind-blowing power to weight ratio!
And, if that's not enough to convince you that the Ruch SR race car means serious business, this little rocket has a red line of 11,600rpm!
The Rush SR sells for a mere $28,995, which is less than a fifth of that of a Lamborghini Huracan!
