THIS COMPARISON IS ELECTRIC! CYBERTRUCK VS RIVIAN R1T VS F-150 LIGHTNING EV TRUCK BATTLE!
This is another interesting Carwow video that features some of the most interesting new cars on the market. Ok, well in the US they’re trucks and here they’re bakkies, but you know what we mean. We’ve already professed our fascination with the Tesla Cybertruck, we’re fans for many reasons. While many don’t like the looks and the profile because it looks like it was designed by a 4-year-old, that’s one of the reasons we do like it. The bakkie has been around for almost as long as the car, and in all that time there really hasn’t been an evolution of the basic design, until Elon took one too many tokes and decided to build the Cybertruck. Not only does the Cybertruck look completely different, it’s made completely in-house at Tesla and even necessitated the invention of a new kind of metal that was needed to make the bodywork strong. Hard F’ing Steel is the official name and it’s thin and light enough to be malleable into the Tesla shape but also negates the need for impact protection bars thanks to its amazing strength. There are so many changes of what you’d normally see on a bakkie that it’s given other automakers a lot to think about. The various trim levels and motor setups allow the car to appeal to a wider audience and varying budgets, but the one everyone wants is the Cyberbeast. The name alone is reason enough to want the top-spec version, but the ridiculous power available and the resulting speed available in a large bakkie is the real selling point for those who have the budget. The big daggy Cyberbeast is obviously the quickest thanks to a triple electric motor setup and 621 kW of power, in Beast Mode it is capable of a 0-100 km/h run of a stupidly quick 2.7 seconds, and the top speed is raised to 210 km/h. It will also flatten a quarter mile in 11 seconds dead.
Take a look at the YouTube video that shows Mat Watson and his Carwow crew pit a trio of the coolest electric-driven trucks against each other in an atypical drag race. They don't actually show a heads-up drag race, it's a compilation of Mat sampling all the vehicles at different times in an easier-to-watch and compare format. Our money was on the Cybertruck because it's just that weird/ugly/awesome, but no matter which is fastest, these things are all fast enough to give supercars a run for their money from a standstill launch: Tesla Cybertruck v Rivian R1T v F-150 Lightning: 0-60 & 1/4-mile TESTED! | carwow
