THRILL HORSE BY HAUS OF THRILLS AND FORD - AN ANNIVERSARY PROJECT.

For six decades, the Ford Mustang has captured the hearts of petrolheads, collectors, and dreamers across the globe. Now, to mark its 60th anniversary, Ford and HAUS OF THRILLS have joined forces to create something truly groundbreaking: the Thrill Horse, an art car that not only looks back on the Mustang’s iconic lineage but also roars into the future with an awesome, fan-powered twist. This isn’t your average anniversary edition. The Thrill Horse stands as a unique fusion of automotive heritage and cutting-edge creativity. It’s one of the first art cars ever to draw its design inspiration from the unmistakable soundtrack of its own history: the roaring V8 engines of six past Mustang generations. Yes, you read that right - this car’s design was literally born from sound. From bumper to bumper, Thrill Horse tells a story. Every line etched into its sleek bodywork represents a specific Mustang era, forming a seamless timeline of 60 years of American automotive excellence. Adding to this visual storytelling are six bold blue and white stripes running the length of the car, each one symbolizing a decade of Mustang dominance. But these stripes aren’t just decorative - they’re deeply personal. Each stripe is a graphic representation of audio recordings taken from real Mustangs owned by die-hard fans. Among the contributors are legends like Jim’s ’66 GT350, Derek and Maria’s ’72 Convertible, Alex’s ’93 Fox Body, Mark’s ’95 Cobra R, Annmarie and Mark’s Shelby GT500, and Harriet’s ’23 Mach 1. Together, their cars provided the heartbeat for this masterpiece, making Thrill Horse not just a car but a rolling tribute to the Mustang community.

The magic doesn’t stop at the visuals. The audio waves that shaped Thrill Horse were carefully recorded from the engines of these iconic Mustangs, creating a symphony of horsepower that resonates through the design. Each wave reflects the pulse of its generation, with the seventh and latest Mustang acting as the canvas for this orchestral tribute. It’s a clever concept, blending artistry, technology, and passion in a way that’s bound to inspire imitators. Thrill Horse made its roaring debut at Silverstone on October 27, 2024, surrounded by over 70 Mustangs spanning generations. The event was more than a showcase—it was a celebration of the Mustang spirit, uniting owners and fans to honour a car that has defined American motoring for six decades. This collaboration between Ford and HAUS OF THRILLS is a testament to what makes the Mustang an enduring icon: its ability to inspire, unite, and thrill like no other. We love the concept of using actual soundwaves as graphics on the car, and we’re sure many others will feel the same. If we were asked to put money on it, we reckon this is something that more than a handful of people will also do, possibly using soundwaves of someone's voice or heartbeat.
