VW'S NEW PEOPLE CARRIER IS THE 7-SEATER TAYRON - FILL THE GAP BETWEEN TIGUAN, AND TOUAREG.

The all-new VW Tayron has arrived, and it’s ready to shake up the SUV world and it fills a gap that only VW noticed. Sitting comfortably between the Touareg and Tiguan, the Tayron strikes the perfect balance between size and capability. This large SUV is as authentic as they come, with a bold and powerful design that screams ruggedness, yet it’s refined enough to turn heads in any setting. As for comfort? Let’s just say it’s best-in-class vibes. And the premium feel? It’s typical high-rung VW quality. Whether you're heading out on a family vacation or packing for an epic road trip, the Tayron offers ample room for five passengers and a whopping 885 litres of luggage space. And if you need more, there’s an optional seven-seat configuration that adds flexibility to your extended family adventures. Powering this sizeable new SUV are seven drivetrain options, including two next-gen plug-in hybrid (eHybrid) models. With over 100 km of pure electric range and up to 850 km of combined range, you can go the distance without worrying about constant stops. Plus, the Tayron can tow up to 2.5 tonnes, making it as practical as it is stylish for hauling trailers of all shapes and sizes. Stretching nearly 4.8 meters, the Tayron doesn’t shy away from its SUV identity. Up front, it flaunts sharp LED headlights and VW’s illuminated badge, creating a signature look that’s impossible to miss. The rear is just as striking, featuring a full-length LED crossbar and another glowing VW logo. Sleek, defined lines enhance the premium vibe while emphasizing the car’s elongated silhouette. This is one of the new VWs that would look freaking fantastic after our mates at VAG Cafe got their hands on it. Inside, it’s a masterclass in sophistication. Depending on your trim choice, you'll be treated to elegant materials like ArtVelours Eco or real open-pore wood accents. The attention to detail continues with illuminated decorative trim, providing that extra touch of luxury. It's all about comfort and refinement, and the R-Line trim looks like the best option. Well, our best option.

The Tayron lineup kicks off with the entry-level Life trim, followed by the more premium Elegance and R-Line packages. It comes with a variety of powertrains, from mild hybrids to petrol and diesel options, and of course, the advanced plug-in hybrid (eHybrid). Every model is equipped with VW’s automatic dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) for smooth, responsive driving. The base eTSI mild hybrid delivers 110 kW, with 48V mild hybrid tech to boost efficiency. If you’re after more electric muscle, the eHybrid options come in 150 kW and 200 kW variants, powered by a 19.7 kWh battery that offers over 100 km of electric range. Need more diesel power? The range-topping TDI with 142 kW comes with VW’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard, delivering the perfect combo of power and traction, whatever the conditions.

Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars commented: “The new Tayron is a bona fide Volkswagen: its quality is reflected in every detail; it is comfortable and practical for everyday life, and it is available with a wide range of drive systems. With this new Volkswagen SUV, we are further expanding our range in a growing segment and closing the gap between our best-seller, the Tiguan, and our luxury SUV, the Touareg. I am convinced that the Tayron will make its mark and be well received by our customers.”

Martin Sander, Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Sales, Marketing and After Sales said: “The new Tayron combines everything that a Volkswagen stands for: versatility, comfort and new technology. With up to seven seats, a premium interior, generous storage space and innovative drive systems, the large SUV is the ideal companion for families and adventurers alike. At the same time, we are making a clear statement with the Tayron: practicality and efficiency complement one another perfectly – for a driving experience that is up to our high standards.”

Kai Grünitz, Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Development: “Following on from the Tiguan and Passat, the Tayron benefits from the advantages of the MQB evo, too. With numerous technology modules, it impresses with a new generation of plug-in hybrid drives with electric ranges of over 100 kilometres, premium-level interior quality, intuitive infotainment system and the latest generation of driver assist systems including voice control with ChatGPT.”
