WHY ARE THERE SO FEW PICKUP TRUCKS IN EUROPE?
Let's find out why there are so few pickup trucks in Europe in comparison to other parts of the world.
The pickup truck has been a popular choice of vehicle amongst consumers since the early 1940s, and the hunger for them has never died down. But why are they by no means a popular choice in Europe?
Now, you'd probably assume that it's because most European towns and cities have no road space for such a large car, and driving one would just be cumbersome, and you'd be right. But that is not the primary factor at all, in fact, there are many area's that a Pickup truck will strive and be loads of fun!
The reasons actually run far deeper. First of all, you have to take into consideration the price of fuel. European countries have some of the highest fuel prices in the world, so just running something like a Ford F-150 would cost a pretty penny! On top of that, Europe has far stricter emissions regulations which, in turn, means a driver of a pickup truck will be taxed far higher than a regular consumer car.
