ABT SPORTSLINE INTRODUCES THE ABT RS6 LEGACY EDITION - INCLUDES 559 KW OF AWESOMENESS.
ABT Sportsline is a well-known global leader in high-quality aftermarket components and tuning options for the most elite cars from the Volkswagen and Audi Group (VAG). With over 125 years of experience, our legacy dates back to the establishment of an innovation workshop by Johann Abt, a renowned blacksmith, in 1896. ABT Sportsline has a proud history of pushing the boundaries, often resulting in a line of limited edition models that makes other owners of the regular OEM versions a little jealous. In 1967, Johann Abt, (a different one, the grandson) also had a passion for fast cars and that’s when he founded ABT Tuning, eventually launching the world's first chip-tuning product in 1980. Jumping to today, the company is responsible for some of the coolest and fastest VAG cars around. Audi’s RS6 is already a beast of a machine with a twin-turbocharged V8 that generates a stonking 463 kW with a properly powerful 850 Nm of torque that’s sent to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system, and it can send the large wagon to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 305 km/h if the top option is specced when ordering the car. With ABT Sportsline, there’s even more potential unlocked from the car. Sure the top speed will stay pretty much the same, that’s a gearing thing, but in the power stakes, things change quite a bit for the better.
They’ve tuned these before, but this time it’s a different package called the Legacy Edition. The ABT RS6-LE features a carbon bonnet insert integrated into the bonnet providing improved heat dissipation, and carbon front skirt inserts including the air intake grille with optimised air routing, and this is part of the extensive aerodynamic kit. This features a front lip, mirror caps, side skirts, a rear skirt insert and a rear wing - all in carbon fibre. For the interior, there’s an ABT steering wheel featuring an Alcantara finish with a 12 o'clock marking and still has a full range of sensors that work with the OEM Audi plugs. The front seats have the ABT logo on the headrest and the RS6-LE logo on the backrest head. The RS6-LE logo is also embroidered on the floor mats and there’s also ABT door entry lighting, a start-stop switch cap and a boot mat in the ABT design. The suspension is changed to ABT coilover springs with ABT sports stabilisers, and the wheels are now 22-inch ABT IR22 wheels in gloss black. Tuning included an ABT turbocharger, ABT intercooler and an in-house ABT Stainless Steel silencer system ending in 4-ABT pipe trims with a diameter of 102 mm. This bumps the power up to 559 kW with 980 Nm of torque.
Take a look at the YouTube video that sees ex-German race driver, and literally part of the ABT family, Daniel Abt walks you through the history of the Audi RS6 at ABT Sportsline as well as the changes carried out to create an improved version of Audi's already powerful and good-looking wagon in the form of the ABT RS6 Legacy Edition: A LEGACY THAT ENDURES - THE NEW ABT RS6 LEGACY EDITION | ABT Sportsline
