FERRARI'S WEAPON FOR THE 2024 FORMULA ONE GRAND PRIX BATTLE REVEALED - THE SF-24!
With the start of the 2024 Formula One Grand Prix season fast approaching, we’re starting to see all the big teams reveal their new cars and livery. We’ve already seen the great-looking car from the McLaren Formula 1 Team after they pulled back the curtain on the striking new livery that will adorn their 2024 challenger, set to be once again piloted by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Their cars draw inspiration from McLaren's racing legacy and the 2024 livery proudly showcases the recognisable and iconic combination of papaya and anthracite. Aston Martin also revealed its new livery and team name just the other day. This British team will be running under the team name of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team and the cars once again sport a British Racing Green livery to give the car a neat and clean, typically British look. A few teams are yet to show off what their new cars for this season will look like, but they will surely be seen in the next couple of weeks, if not sooner. The latest reveal hit the interwebz less than a day ago and it comes from the powerhouse Ferrari Formula One team. Ferrari has always been one of the world’s most popular Formula One teams thanks to its rich history of winning cars and drivers, so when they reveal a new car, the motorsport world watches in anticipation. As expected, the car that the Italian team will campaign in the 2024 Grand Prix season is covered in the typical deep red as the main colour along with black accents and a bit of yellow to break the solid colours up. The car is called the Ferrari SF-24, with the latter denoting the race year. There’s no word just yet on the technical changes to the car for this year, but there clearly needs to be a few if the team has any hope of giving the Red Bull chaps a proper run for the driver and constructor titles. Ferrari has confirmed that the SF-24 will make an initial track outing ahead of pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit from February 21-23, so there should be some decent photographic and video content popping up soon.
The Ferrari SF-24 sees last year’s drivers in the seat, Charles LeClerc and Carlos Sainz, and it will be the fourth and last time that the duo drives together. The sports world was given a full shake-up a couple of weeks back when it was announced that long-time Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton would move to Ferrari taking a seat away from Carlos Sainz. Frederic Vasseur remains as team principal and general manager of Scuderia Ferrari. Commenting on the upcoming 2024 season, Vasseur said: “Presenting a new car to the world for the first time is always a very exciting moment for me and the drivers, even if we are all already thinking about the moment we will go head to head with our rivals on track. This year, we must start off where we left off at the end of last season, when we were consistent front runners, with a view to constantly improving in all areas. The longest-ever Formula 1 season awaits us and Charles, Carlos and I all agree, we must be more clinical and effective in how we manage the races, making bold choices, in order to get the best possible result at every Grand Prix. It’s often said that your fans can give you an extra gear and that will definitely be true in what will be a very closely contested championship and we are proud to know we can count on our ‘tifosi’ from around the world.” The numbers may be a cool indication of a decent season, we’re in 2024, the car is called the SF-24 and there are 24 races in the season. So far fans have only seen the new car start-up, but we’re sure it will have all the right technical changes to try and get it to be one of the top contenders for the season, but we’ll only have a good idea if any changes made will work as intended once we see the rest of the field’s cars and test data.
