MASERATI UNVEILS PROJECT24 - A 740 HP TWIN-TURBOCHARGED V6 TRACK WEAPON

Purpose-built, track-only racecars make us happy, especially when they have all the Italian flair and styling, not to mention power, and they’re all wrapped up in a Maserati package. This extreme car that will only ever see duty on the world’s racetracks will be limited to just 62 units, and they will be available for the Gentleman Racer types to campaign complete with track setup and maintenance. There’s no actual name as yet, the model is being referred to as Project 24, and it has a bunch of ingredients sourced from the super cool Maserati MC20. The main ingredient, and the part we like very much is the twin-turbocharged V6 Nettuno engine tweaked to provide a healthy 545 kW (740 hp).

Making it more special is innovative suspension, a carbon-ceramic braking system and tyres specifically tuned up for racing, as well as a host of FIA-approved safety features. With all the right things in place, the Maserati Project24 will tip the scales below 1 250 kg which should result in a very good power-to-weight ratio of roughly 1.69 kg/hp. Designed by Centro Stile Maserati, the Project24 pushes the boundaries to the limits, the result being something never seen before combining beauty with genuine sporty capabilities to become an instant classic collector’s item.
