THE $3.7MILLION KOENIGSEGG CC850 SOLD OUT SO FAST AN EXTRA 20 MODELS ARE NOW PLANNED FOR PRODUCTION

It’s hard to fathom that a car like the Koenigsegg CC850, that has a retail price in the region of a whopping $3 700 000, or a simple R63 000 000 in our funny money minus transport and shipping costs, sold out in record time after the worldwide premier a few months back. At the launch of the new hypercar, the Swedish automaker announced that the production of the CC850 would be limited to 50 units, but there are clearly more of the world’s elite that think Christian von Koenigsegg’s creations are must-haves. Also, seeing as all the tooling and production procedures in place adding more units to the planned production list isn’t too much of an issue, we assume. Also, money talks and when you can rake in extra millions, that’s not something a bespoke automaker can really overlook in these completely messed up economic times. ”Clearly, we struck a chord with the connoisseurs and the fans by blending our roots with novel thinking and a timeless design that stands apart from the rest. We are humbled and grateful for the response and will do our utmost to exceed expectations.” says von Koemnigsegg.

While the CC850 looks very much like a Koenigsegg, it’s usually the tech and powertrain that sets models apart and this model has some pretty serious poke available. This car is powered by Koenigsegg’s own twin-turbocharged, all-aluminium 5.0-litre V8. It features things like a flat-plane crankshaft, multipoint fuel injection with individual cylinder pressure and back pressure sensors, a carbon fibre intake manifold with optimised intake tracts, a tig-welded 3D printed Inconel exhaust manifold and a pair of ceramic ball bearing turbochargers that are set up to run at 1.5-bar boost (1.7-bar with E85 fuel), and it’s all mated to a Koenigsegg 9-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST) that helps send the power to the rear wheels only. This Koenigsegg special is rated to produce an amazing 1185 hp on high-octane pump fuel and an even more impressive 1385 hp on E85 fuel. Torque is rated at a monstrous 1385 Nm. The Koenigsegg CC850 is an amazing creation, and now twenty more gazillionaires have the opportunity to add to their collections, bringing the car’s total production run to 70 units. ”Clearly, we struck a chord with the connoisseurs and the fans by blending our roots with novel thinking and a timeless design that stands apart from the rest. We are humbled and grateful for the response and will do our outmost to exceed expectations.” ends von Koenigsegg.

Take a look at the YouTube video from the launch of the amazing Koenigsegg CC850 and you'll see why the technologically-advanced CC850 was so well-received by the world's wealthy car collectors that the company decided to raise the total production number of the unit by another 50 units: Koenigsegg CC850 - WORLD PREMIERE | Koenisegg
