THE MCLAREN ELVA IS A SUBLIME SLICE OF ENGINEERING THAT NOVITEC HAS TAKEN TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

The Novitec McLaren Elva is one of the most exclusive McLarens you can buy, well, if you’re in the bracket of earners that can drop around R27 000 000 on a car that will most likely only see the light of day once a year. There are just 149 units in the production run and well-known German tuner Novitec managed to get their hands on it to work their magic on with a new customisation package for the car. If you think about it, how many of the 149 owners will have the cajones to modify one? Yeah, being exclusive is cool, but after creating one of these, it’s not very likely that a second one will ever be created. The car is a work of art, it has that typical modern McLaren look to it with some major changes, most noticeably the lack of a windscreen or roof. The Elva is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 with 560 kW and and 800 Nm of torque on tap, and it can hot 100 km/h in less than 3-seconds, 200 km/h in 6.7-seconds and has a monstrous top speed of 330 km/h. That’s in stock form, and quite unbelievable that you can drive so fast without a windscreen or roof, it should suck everything in the car out and rip toupes off. Should, but doesn’t. As if that performance isn’t mad enough, Novitec has managed to extract more power from the Elva while also sorting out a few styuling bits too.

The Novitec packages feature a a precision-tuned, tailor-made handling package for the two-seater that features forged 20-inch and 21-inch forged wheels in collaboration with Vossen, the renowned American manufacturer of high-end alloy wheels. The tailor-made Novitec MC3 wheels are produced using state-of-the-art forging and machining technology and they feature seven twin-spokes extending to the outer edge and a centerlock look. These exclusive rims come in 72 different colour options and also offer a choice of brushed or polished finish. Novitec will also tailor the interior of the McLaren Elva to the owner's wishes, in exquisite detail while using the finest leather and Alcantara in a virtually endless variety of colours. There are three performance kits on offer for this open-top super sports car that includes the installation of a plug-and-play Novitec N-Tronic module that upgrades the management system and it features special maps for injection and ignition and also adjusts the electronic boost pressure. Matched with this, Novitec has also developed a high-performance exhaust system specifically tailored to this engine that reduces back pressure while being fully thermally insulated, and can if money is no object this can also be had with 999-grade fine gold plating. These changes result in an extra 76 kW and 88 Nm of torque. All of this combined produces a Novitec McLaren Elva that has a monster power output of 676 kW at 7 100 rpm with peak torque of 888 Nm from 6 300 rpm.
